We had a special visit a few weeks ago when the judging panel for the Scottish Beer Awards @scotbeerawards led by @kirstenatkdmedia came to @71brewing — including the legendary @igarrettoliver 🍻
While they were here, the panel popped upstairs to Draff Studio, where we had the chance to show them our sheet material made from 71’s own spent grain and share the story behind it — how we turn brewing and distilling by-products into new design possibilities.
A huge congratulations to our downstairs neighbours, @71brewing , for taking home the title of Scottish Brewery of the Year! 🏆

Meet Sjoelbak (Dutch Shuffleboard). A game we fell for while visiting friends. A two sided game top, now reimagined and crafted in the workshop with solid timber and a splash of colour. 🍊
It’s become a small ritual here: a game at the end of the day, a bit of laughter, and a reminder to make time for play.
They’re £300 and can be made to order. A thoughtful gift for birthdays, Christmas, or anyone who loves a bit of friendly competition for their get togethers. 💪
This week we celebrated among friends, family and community from across Scotland. A moment that’s been six years in the making. Six years of planning, building, and dreaming for Aymeric to finally have a workshop of his own. A space to grow, to make, and to take on bigger projects. Thank you to everyone who came across to support, it meant so much to see your faces there <3
When I think back to those early days, just the two of us in a big empty space, pressing boards, experimenting with draff and imagining what could be, it’s hard to believe the day finally came or that it’s actually the same space! Ive included some photos of the same space so you can see how far it’s come. I remember it being so cold, now it’s warm and busy with people.
Mic is the most humble, joyful and hard-working person I know. @a_renoud , you deserve this so much after everything you’ve poured into it. I feel so lucky to have been even a small part of it with you.

Thrilled to share our latest project with @fettercairnwhisky Distillery, led by @andrewlennie04 — a set of bespoke tasting mats and coasters designed for their brand ambassadors. These pieces will accompany them on travels across the globe, setting the stage for immersive and memorable whisky tasting experiences.
Crafted using spent grain from Fettercairn’s own whisky production, collected earlier in the year, each tasting mat is backed with copper and finished with screen-printed branding — a tactile celebration of provenance, materiality, and storytelling. The copper adds a warm, durable touch and connects subtly with elements of Fettercairn’s visual identity.
The project aligns closely with Fettercairn’s 200 Club — their commitment to sourcing barley from within a 50-mile radius of the distillery. We’re proud to contribute to this ethos of local sourcing and circular design with our workshop sitting within that radius.
It was a joy to hand-deliver the final pieces to the distillery — and a real highlight to be shown around by Kelly Anderson @whiskelly_anderson_fettercairn , for a great little behind-the-scenes tour while we were there 🥃.

We have been pretty quiet here recently but have finally moved into our new workshop/studio. You maybe have seen some signs already on the first floor of our friends @71brewing@canvasdundee if you’ve visited the taproom this summer. We are so chuffed to share the space with them, bringing good vibes and great music a door away from our studio.
More than 4 years in the making, it has been amazing to see the empty iron work factory slowly but surely getting transformed into a multi-purpose space under the supervision of @71brewing@neilmowat and with the great design work from @oladaszynska and Gary from @kennedytwaddle
We got to know Duncan and his team nearly 10 years ago. We popped into the brewery on Bellfield street to collect some spent grain in the early research phase of draff as a material. Their proximity with @djcad_uod was perfect for us and from the beginning Duncan has alway been so helpful and interested in our work.🙏
Coming back so close to where it all started feels so joyously full circle and the community rapidly growing around the newly open taproom is something really special.

It has been so interesting to work with @alicemariearcherstudio ’s beautiful plant inspired patterns and transform them into rubbings for everyone to take a wee piece of this amazing work home! It has been an amazing job to be involved with under @rapt_projects supervision, Robbie and his team were so easy to work with and we can’t thanks them enough for the opportunity.
Made from stained solid ash block board, Maui Hi-macs worktop and birch plywood carcasses, every details were meticulously designed with their client for a fully bespoke approach.
