A new era for one of downtown Macon's most beloved spaces!
After 11 years, Kirsten West is retiring. This past First Friday was a celebration of her dedication to making Gallery West a creative hub for this community. Scott Mitchell, owner of the Bohemian Den and Sweet Eleanor's, steps in as new owner this July, keeping the name, the mission, and Kirk West's iconic photography right where they belong.
Kirk and Kirsten West are woven into the fabric of this city. Kirk spent over 20 years as photographer and Tour Mystic for the Allman Brothers Band, with a collection spanning the Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Bob Marley, and so many more. Kirsten built a true home for that legacy and kept something special happening on Third Street for over a decade.

Today, the Hay House invites visitors to step inside Macon’s past through tours, preservation efforts, and curated events such as this afternoon’s Tea and Tiles event where it’s history wasn’t just observed, but felt.
Many of Macon’s historic homes continue to host, to tell stories, and to create moments that connect past and present. Through the work of @historicmacon and @thegeorgiatrust , these places are preserved not just as landmarks, but as living spaces that carry Macon’s story forward.🥂✨
