It’s so nice to look back and remember the nerves of the first place I did my live doodles. I really didn’t think anyone would like them. I did maybe 10 doodles at that very first event @patchplaces and haven’t looked back since. It’s crazy that now when I do an event I’m starting to ask people to pre order. As I have more requests than I have time. I’ve been busy working on some new greeting card designs. I’ve had this thought of shaped cards for a while and couldn’t quite figure out how to get it out my head, then drawn out, printed and cut. So much trial and error. Bad designs and wrong layouts. I’m getting the hang of it now and i’m working on a Christmas range as we speak. It’s been a tough day of self doubt that i’ll ever get there. A few things that I often have to clear up when people first discover my work and want a doodle of their pet. 1. I don’t need your pet to sit still whilst I draw it. I work from a photo you give me. 2. The photo doesn’t need to be that clear or professional. It can be a funny moment captured or just tell a story about their personality 3. I love it when people send me a photo of their pet next to the doodle I did.
