I shall miss performing this sensational piece with Donncha and Erin, to Siobhán’s keen-wake as she conjures me up like a shadow banshee every night. The epic sound design by our composer @anna.mullarkey gives me chills gach oíche. Donncha plays her ingenius instrument invention, the Íseal, designed just for this show ♥️ Shows 79 and 80, here we come. SWEPT OFF HIS FEET is making it's Dublin debut at @disfmf this October! My first film has been doing the festival circuit and I am thrilled for it to be screened in the city where it was made! My pal @ciaran_ogrady found these photos recently of the 2007 @abbeytheatredublin production of Julius Caesar! Such happy memories and so great to see so many faces from the past and (thankfully!) still the present! It was my third acting job ever and my first time in the Abbey and, for me, the beginning of a very happy career. I am delighted to announce that my short film Swept Off His Feet will have its world premiere at @fastnetfilmfestival in May 2025! This is the first film I have written, directed, produced and starred in, and was part the #actorascreator scheme funded by @screenireland Swept Off His Feet tells the story of Damien, a caretaker in a college of dance who spends his days cleaning, mopping and polishing, all the while wishing he could dance. Maybe now is the time for Damien to step into the spotlight? Swept Off His Feet is a heartwarming story dealing with themes of male body image, mid-life regrets and pirouettes! And so our trip to Gusty Nook has come to an end. What a wonderful time I had sharing the stage with the amazing @__catwilliams_ and @moi_mags in a world created by the super talented @suzielcummins , Naomi Faughnan and Denis Clohessy. We were looked after so well by our producer @missamyod , our stage manager @ardens_pics and our production manager @jessfkane . What a team! But we would be nowhere without 2 very special people. Every character, theme, joke and fright came from the wonderful mind of @petetombstones and was crafted and staged by his partner in crime, our director, @rehearsula . A nightmarishly good partnership! It has been a long and fruitful (almost 3 year) journey, from the initial idea, getting funding, workshopping the script, getting MORE funding, building a team, design meetings, photo shoots, script development, design meetings, rehearsals and tech. Culminating in 8 wonderful performances at @axis_ballymun as part of @bramstokerfestival with thanks to @artscouncilireland I am so glad I got to be part of this journey. Time to say bye-bye to Bunty! And bye-bye to a wonderful company of theatre folk who I had the pleasure to work with over the past two months.
