EVENT 001 Grounded Transcendence | Day 3 | CDW26 @cake.architecture ’s takeover of the Domus showroom temporarily transforms the space into an experimental ground for sound, surface, and spatial exploration through three evolving typologies: Gallery (Day 1), Listening Room (Day 2), and Club (Day 3). On Day 3, the showroom shifts into its final form, with CAKE reconfiguring the space to become a club inspired setting. @shadysisters__ will curate a 12-hour sonic journey curated with a party that resists easy definition, moving fluidly across music, art and community, finding beauty in the shadows and elegance in simplicity. Come and join us as the space moves through different moments and experiences, from live performances to DJ sets. EVENT 001 Grounded Transcendence | Day 2 | CDW26 @cake.architecture ’s takeover of the Domus showroom will temporarily transform the space into an experimental testing ground, exploring space, sound and surface through the typologies of a Gallery (Day 1), Listening Room (Day 2) and Club (Day 3). On day two, the Domus showroom transforms into a listening room, with sound becoming the primary medium that unifies and shapes the experience. @Jules.Archard continues his trends presentations, exploring Proto/Synthesis and our search for grounded spaces in an increasingly digital world. @Jazreena.Harlow follows, creating an immersive soundscape where audio becomes both sensory and spatial architecture. A lunchtime talk from Francesca Mamino, ‘Nightclubs as Spaces for Collective Experiences’, explores the nightclub as a site of shared intensity. Big Ears shapes day two’s Listening Room audio programme, pushing the bounds of their brand new hand-built ‘Hive’ system. As a team spanning makers, designers, sound engineers & curators, different ideas always emerge. EVENT 001 Grounded Transcendence | DAY 1 | CDW26 Join us as @cake.architecture takes over the Domus showroom during @clerkenwelldesignweek for a temporary transformation of the space. This will be an experimental testing ground, exploring space, sound, and surface through the typologies of a Gallery (Day 1), a Listening Room (Day 2), and a Club (Day 3). Day one is framed as a gallery exploring the theme of Grounded Transcendence, including works from artists, designers, and photographers exploring nightlife and rave culture. As part of a three-part series on Proto/Synthesis, @Jules.Archard introduces Proto, focusing on the shift toward raw stone and elemental forms in interiors. @Jazreena.Harlow will follow with an immersive sonic experience, examining how sound, the body, and space converge to shape sensory perception and awareness. A lunchtime talk from @evan.a.purdy titled ‘Photographic Dispersion’ looks at moving photography from “external collector” to “embodied participant” using the camera as an extension of the subconscious. @tango.ldn take the helm for the opening party. Defined as an event series inspired by the invisible agreements of tango: improvisation, shared listening, and movement shaped through collective rhythm. Moving between tension and release, intimacy and distance, Tango explore how people move together through rhythm, attention, and atmosphere. Expect deep, intentional listening of electroacoustic sounds where synthesis and live instrumentation meet. This Spring Edit introduced a fresh perspective to our showrooms, showcasing a curated mix of surfaces combining technical precision with contemporary design. Across our showrooms, displays featured a range of distinct finishes, from the rich tones of Glimpse to the sculptural presence of Moon. This season, we also launched Formatech, a porcelain tile designed in collaboration with @florim_ceramiche and @gensler_design . Drawing inspiration from plaster, concrete, and metal, Formatech captures the essence of these materials in a unified design. Throughout the Edit, architects and designers were welcomed into our showrooms to experience the new collection firsthand, with engaging trend presentations, hands-on training, and informal specification sessions. This Wednesday, Gensler (@Gensler_Design ) and Domus came together to share a special supper at our Birmingham showroom. Curated by our Interior Design Manager, Robyn (@robyntaylerpayne_interiors ), the evening celebrated the launch of Formatech — bringing people together over great food, design, and conversation. A huge thank you to our Product Director, Neil, for bringing the Domus x Gensler x Florim collection to life — from production through to surface textures. It was fascinating to hear him speak so insightfully on the story behind the materials. And finally, a big thank you to the catering team @trentinajq — the tiramisu went down a treat! Last week, we were delighted to welcome guests to our Clerkenwell showroom to celebrate the launch of Formatech, a new porcelain collection created in collaboration between @Florim_Ceramiche and @Gensler_Design . The evening began with a panel discussion led by Jennifer Hahn of @Dezeen , inviting guests into the story behind the collection, from its material origins to its approach to sustainability. James Lawrence (@Gensler_Design ), Joanna Conceição (@Savills ), and Jon Newey (Domus) each shared unique insights, exploring design, sustainability, and the collection’s place within the wider industry. Afterwards, guests enjoyed cocktails, curated music, and an Italian pasta bar with tiramisu, taking the opportunity to explore the collection throughout the showroom.
