I was delighted to be asked by Andy Bell to write the liner notes for the release of ‘The Crown Jewels’, an expanded edition of his solo album from earlier this year, ‘Ten Crowns’. It was a wonderful and humbling experience to be entrusted with telling the story of an album that means so, so much to him. It is always a privilege to be regarded as a member of the Erasure family, but this one felt very special. ‘The Crown Jewels’ is released this Friday. @officialandybell @erasureinfo

On 9 February 2019, I had my one and only conversation with Soft Cell’s Dave Ball. The intention was to use this in a project I was working on at the time that ultimately never got finished. On the sad occasion of Ball’s passing, I decided to revisit the conversation. I remember it was a Saturday afternoon, and took place during the halftime break of a football match he was watching on television. The full interview is now online at documentaryevidence.co.uk and finds Dave talking about his time at Leeds Poly, his interactions with Frank Tovey / Fad Gadget, the birth of Soft Cell and working with Daniel Miller. @softcellhq @muterecords @tnml001 #muterecords #daveball #softcell

I met @documentaryevidence through @garethgeniusjones . He wrote about Magnetar for @clashmagazine , which led to a live Q&A at the event space in @strongroombarshoreditch , London. I’ve always thought his words are the closest thing to sound - when he writes, it feels like he’s playing. So, I asked him to listen to the unreleased tracks of Magnetar and share his thoughts. These are the beautiful words he wrote: bit.ly/mufurther Link in bio / stories 📸 @mike_signo
