For their project with United Airlines, Johalla asked us to fabricate works by artists Marzena Abrahamik and Clarissa Bonet, installed at the refreshed United Polaris Lounge at O’Hare International Airport. For Marzena, we printed the oversized work on a cotton rag paper and mounted it to dibond. For Clarissa, we printed and mounted three works. The largest one was then laminated with a matte UV laminate and mounted onto a sliding door. The other two were framed and included on the salon wall. Congratulations to the artists and Johalla on a beautiful install, and be sure to check it out next time you’re at O’Hare! This week, we were pleased to celebrate a new partnership between the AICEP Portugal Trade & Invest – Chicago Office and DOCUMENT, which operates galleries in both Chicago and Lisbon. As part of this collaboration, AICEP’s new office now hosts an installation of works by two Portuguese artists, Luísa Jacinto and Pedro Vaz. Their presence in the space reflects not only the strength of contemporary Portuguese art, but also the growing cultural and economic ties between Chicago and Portugal. A new office, new art, and a renewed commitment to strengthening transatlantic connections. We look forward to welcoming partners and visitors at AICEP’s new location: 8 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago. Install and Photography courtesy of DOCUMENT Artist Services @documentartistservices . @jacintoluisa #luisajacinto @pedro__vaz #pedrovaz @_aicep_ #documentspace

Recently we were asked to replace an aging portfolio of “The Green Dress” consisting of 21 photographs from 1980 by artists Sandra Binion and Dirk Bakkers. Having been made decades ago, the original colors were starting to shift and fade. After comparing the original prints to another set kept in cold storage at the Art Institute of Chicago the artists determined that DOCUMENT would digitize the original film and reprint a new set of prints for the MoCP’s collection. We started with drum scanning the original film, then made a set of proof prints to compare to the Art Institute’s portfolio. After some adjustments we printed a new full portfolio and delivered to MoCP, with vibrant, full color. @mocpchi @sandrabinion13 @artinstitutechi

For Julia Fish’s current exhibition, “Transcriptions, Apparitions,” at David Nolan Gallery, the artist enlisted our help to fabricate “Apparition: six Hermitage Thresholds @ 81st Street.” The work required a custom shaped dye sublimation print on aluminum panel with a Baltic birch backing. Up through Feb 14. Image courtesy of the artist and David Nolan Gallery, NY @davidnolangallery
