The last three months - wow! Moved from the lands that held me for 6 years and released most of my material belongings. Now preparing for an overseas migration while reunited with family in California.
Got to make tamales with my mama. I am so thankful to be nourished by our fave ancestral foods - and I am super happy to share them with my people in Los Angeles soon 🙌🏾💙🌽
I’m going to pop up a fresh batch of heirloom blue corn cacao tamales 🫔😍 in Highland Park at the
@scribble.community holiday market on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14.
⚠️PREORDERS NOW CLOSED⚠️ ((THANKS EVERYONE!!))
• Minimum order $16 - quantity 4
• Add $4 per additional tamale
• Venmo @ karosana to confirm your order
These tamales are earthy chocolate and lightly sweetened with coconut sugar. Soft and moist, they are great on their own, as well as lovely with a dollop of your fave jam, compote, or drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
Pickup your preorders, or get them individually, at
@scribble.community between 11a-4p*, Sun. 12/14.
Market goes until 5p but tamales very likely to be done earlier.
There will be many fun and creative vendors for finding unique quality gifts. I will be offering some beautiful handmade earrings, herbal remedies, and other goodies as well.
Donations of hygiene supplies will be collected for
@selahnhc winter drive to create kits for our unhoused neighbors. Check out the slides for all the details.
Thanks to everyone who already ordered - and to all those who have previously enjoyed and asked for more. I never set out to sell these, but have been wonderfully encouraged by the response from my friends and extended community.
Appreciate the shares to spread the word on this special offering. 🫔💙🍫
Looking forward to seeing some of you soon!
Special thanks to my dear
@snakerootapothecary @rootf00d for connecting me with
@docs.google for the Sunday market. Can’t wait to meet you there. 💛
