It’s a pleasure to finally release my collaboration with the late, great, Marcus Intalex - PTO. We wrote this way back in 2009 when I went to visit Marcus in Manchester. We were planning stuff regarding the launch of my debut album for Soul:R. We had a bit of downtime so got in the studio and wrote the track in about 3 hours. We thought the track was ok but nothing special so we named it PTO, had a quick laugh about it and moved on. We sat on it and never spoke of the track again. I think Marcus sent it to Fabio who gave it a few spins on radio 1. Pretty sure no one else got it. 16 years later and listening back I think it’s aged well and that’s why I wanted to get it out there for everyone to enjoy a hidden gem from Marcus’s legacy. Thanks to Marcus’s mum, Pat for giving me permission to release this. This track is part of my upcoming Vault 4 albums on @detailrecordings This is Detail Recordings 50th release and 15 years deep! Way back in 2006 me & Kemo met over MySpace and started collaborating on music. Our first track ‘Global Enemies’ signed to soul:r and we started working on our debut album The Raw Truth. We went on to tour all over the globe together for many years spreading our sound. Kemo retired from music some years after and shut all his social media pages. I haven’t spoke with him for over 5 years and have no contact info. If anyone has any contact with Kemo please dm me The track playing is ‘Welcome to the Future’ ft Hellrazor, a track originally written back in 2008 (ish) for our raw truth album. We used to start our sets with an early version of this. The track went through many iterations. Finally its now complete some 15 years later! Re worked, re mixed and re mastered. Somehow Kemo’s Orwellian, dystopian lyrics feel even more poignant in the world we live in today. Forthcoming on my upcoming album Vault 4 on @detailrecordings The Vault series is unreleased music from the last 20 years. However this one and many of the tracks have been reworked from the ground up.
