I don’t know what I’m doing. But I’m trying really hard.
A few years ago I decided I want to do my best at something for once in my life. I decided to make an album that I’m proud of on every level. I worked long shifts, I sacrificed time with friends and family, many nights I would work 13+ hour days and spend all night writing and trying to hone my craft, just to go straight back to work in the morning with little to no sleep. Washing down pain pills with Red Bull so that I can keep grinding.
In the past 3 years my wife and I have welcomed 2 angels into this world. I couldn’t be more grateful and yet terrified. God has carried us and changed our trajectory. That’s what this is all about.
This is my flag in the ground. This is me.
“LIVE FROM THE PLACE TO BE” is a declaration to say yes to the life God has given me. It’s not the prettiest, it’s not what I dreamed of. But it’s mine. And it’s a gift.
I’m saying yes to this life of fatherhood, artistry, humanity… I will fight for this.
Through this next month I’ll be sharing some things that are special to me. Things that I really fought for. I made a page for the album here ➡️ @live.from.the.place.to.be this is for people that want to be a part of this release and engage. If you just want to see what I’m doing and watch from the outside (which I’m grateful for) you can just keep following this page. But if you want to engage and really be involved then go follow the album page.
There is a slide above of my toe that I chopped in half with a hatchet about a week ago 😅 I just wanted to share that cause right now I’m out of work and not able to do all that I wanted to physically for this roll out. I still gotta be a father, I still gotta make art, I still gotta say yes to this life.
I’m ready. Let’s do this.
