We are happy to share our collaboration with @concr3de , demonstrating their unique stone 3D printing technology this week at Marmomac 2022 in Verona Italy.
Gothic Reimagined uses text to image AI #midjourney tools to reinterpret gothic style. In order to fabricate and realize these new representations a digital workflow was developed in order to translate a 2D image to a 3D high resolution relief model. With a 3D model available, CONCR3DE's additive manufacturing process was used to print the model in recycled limestone.
The project is one of the first translations ever from AI generated imagery to an actual physical representation in 3d printed stone

Title: Dichotomous Forms
Description: “Dichotomous Forms is a proposal for an aquatic center located on Fort Lauderdale Beach. The project explores how two distinct geometric systems can be used in tandem to create intriguing relationships between users and the project at the urban as well as the building scale.
The contrast in geometry is most apparent between the exterior shell and the interior slabs. The extreme nature of the exterior system draws people towards the building, generating curiosity about what may be inside. Upon entering the building users are greeted with a radically different interior system, the soft twists of minimal surface geometries which make the interior systems are emphasized with the rigid shell as its backdrop.
The drastic difference between the two systems is meant to invoke thought of how the architectural landscape of not only Fort Lauderdale, but the United States as a whole can be transformed.”
Professor: Dustin White @dlwhite

Gothic Reimagined is a groundbreaking project that explores the intersection of AI, 3D printing, and traditional craftsmanship. This project features the first-ever AI-generated image (created using MidJourney) translated into a 3D form and physically realized in stone. @dlwhite a pioneer in digital design, utilized AI as a tool for rapid concept sketching, developing a refined dialogue with the AI to produce compelling “Gothic Reimagined” images.
The design team meticulously translated these 2D AI-generated images into the 3D realm, paving the way for new design workflows. Our expertise in 3D printing with powdered stone brought these digital creations to life, connecting the project to the historical context of Gothic architecture. The AI’s generated shapes were faithfully reproduced by CONCR3DE’s 3D printer. This project was a testament to the power of collaboration, bringing together AI, designers, and fabricators to create a unique and innovative work of art.

Our furniture panels are in production with @concr3de using their new large-scale Elephant 3D printer. “Baroque Cabinet” design has been achieved through the employment of artificial intelligence, which interprets baroque patterns into the panels.
More about the printing process from Concr3de:
The usability and applicability of any 3D printing technology is often determined by its maximum print dimensions. Elephant Gray was engineered to create large-scale objects in stone-like materials. Our technology platform empowers you to create parts and objects up to an industrial 1x2x1 meters in size.
Elephant Gray enables the production of complex shapes and intricate details at scale, delivering unparalleled speed, design freedom, and flexibility. By scaling up, we unlock massive cost savings and open doors to many applications, such as restoration, production design, furniture and cladding.
