Today is your birthday. And most days these days you are on my mind. Fridays are a harder day and I still don’t believe you are not here anymore. I keep expecting you to come around the corner, dancing into the room. I miss . . . how you greet me, root for me, support me as a dj and fellow music lover, show up as my advisor/music consultant (so many good ideas I have used), disagree with me about silly stuff important at the time, your impeccable music taste (damn you got a good ear!), how upbeat and optimistic you can be, and petty when necessary, your ‘selectiveness’, how your boundaries are clear (I learned from you in that regard), your generosity towards others, your party spirit, the shots, the shots and the shots, our travel together and getting to know you over some years.
