Someone told me once that bartending is about relationships, and Alejandro has proven this to our city. As the staff here at UnderCurrent Bar, there’s one person we know who has touched so many lives and had a far reach with all he comes in contact with. A month ago we received some hard news that our Bar Manager, Alejandro Olivares, had been diagnosed with cancer. He’s taken time to step back and fight so we’re taking time to step up and back him up. Our hearts are hurting to know he’s on a journey that no one should have to go on. Alejandro is our leader, compassionate, kind, and he defines that word “hospitality”. The relationships he has built both inside our doors and hearts is reflected by the community he is still apart of and this city knows this. As a bar this has definitely brought us together, and we unanimously want to do all we can to raise money for his treatments and the costs he’ll have. We know this town has already done a lot- we’ve experienced such an outpouring. This road he is on is long and we are going to keep pulling for our boy at his home bar as long as he needs the energy, love, the support. Alejandro, we love you.

@beonesmallmiracle on June 26th for a full day of service and fundraising. All tips will be donated and we are getting the entire bar family together to bartend and spend the day with all those who will support us. Whether Alejandro has served you a drink or been a friend or both, we’d love to have our doors open that day solely for him.
Adrian Ross-Boon, Natalie Hamilton, and Matt Pfohl will hold a toast at midnight for Alejandro, before the raffle. We thank the town for generously donating raffle prizes, there’s over 30 prizes and tickets will be $5- all going to charity and directly to
