This #PresidentsDay we are showing you a sneak peak from our recent project scanning President George Washington's Gavel, which was first used in 1793 at the ceremonial cornerstone laying of the United States Capitol.

First hands-on Artec Jet event on the East Coast happened yesterday in Maryland!
Our partner @directdimensions hosted the launch at Hatch X. Backpack configuration, tablet in hand, scanning the facility floor in real time. The full Artec 3D lineup was there too: Leo, Ray II, Spider II, Micro II, Point. But the Jet backpack was the thing nobody wanted to take off.

The Chilmark Brickyard dates back to the 19th century and once produced millions of bricks used along the East Coast. Today, its iconic 45-foot chimney stands as a reminder of the Island’s industrial past.
In 2025, Direct Dimensions partnered with @mfsengineers to document the chimney using LiDAR scanning and aerial photogrammetry, creating a precise 3D model to support its ongoing preservation.
