Quiet over here, keeping on keeping on. A few snaps of life lately. 🌼
I am so tired I legit clicked on the cake pic & typed in “cake” when tagging people in the pics.
Arcosanti - one of our favourite places on earth. We have been inspired so much by this place for our next build project which is underway (currently giving Jack heart palpitations, night sweats and menty b’s. ) However, with my PMA, creative vision and “the skys the limit” approach we can get through it. 💪🏽
We fell in love with this place on our travels through Arizona, Paolo Soleri’s architecture for the off-grid community built in the 70s had us wowed. The desert landscape, sunsets & sunrises pouring into all the glass windows set amongst coloured slabs of concrete, textures of wood, native plants, steel and bronze bells chiming in the wind. It was such a captivating place & is heavily influencing the feel and design of our next project. More to come…🔨
🌞 These two days got me through 29 days of rain. Quality not quantity. But also so done with January good riddance 👋 Welcome Imbolc and the returning of the light ✨
🍁Autumn/winter photo dump. (reminder to post more frequently so i don’t have to sift through a gazillion snaps.)
Also pining after my autumn skin before winter truly kicked in and eczema has riddled me and now a selfie is outta the question. Thank you @alicevcooke for capturing me so full of joy ✨
2025 I made a promise to prioritise connection, joy and my own health and it’s the first year I stuck to my intention. 🦥

Sharing some recent work whilst i sift through the last 6 years in preparation for updating my poor neglected website. 🫠
@caveandcowrie is a great example of how I love to collaborate on a branding job when my client is just as creative! Hanging out on my living room floor with Ari’s paint pens, coffee and bouncing creative ideas back and forth. Each branding process is so unique and this one in particular had Rosie’s stamp all over it: Raw, elemental and by hand. I worked from Rosie’s moodboard to design some lettering for her logo before printing it large scale for her to paint over organically, we then scanned in each letter and wove them together. Later adding elements from Rosie’s paintings like the sun and cowrie shell to create digital icons she could use across marketing material and packaging. The process was so fluid from start to finish, a dream job. 🐚

Our first xmas in Cornwall and actually our fist ever xmas at home. We have only missed one xmas at our parents in 38years. Ari got sick and the car broke down the day we were supposed to head to Devon. It was such a blessing because we had a xmas i had always longed for, frosty sunny walks on the beach, card games, nibbles and music all day not having to drive anywhere and feeling relaxed. A bonus was Ari learnt to play Shithead 🃏 and getting under the covers boxing day after flying planes in the wind on the hilltop and watching The Pagemaster eating mince pies. 🥧
(popping to Exeter after so Jack could be a power ranger & we could see fam which took 4hrs in gridlocked traffic, note to self- don’t leave cornwall xmas wk)
I wrote this 3 years ago when Ari was 1.5yrs old and I couldn’t find any books to read him about being a wild little boy. I hoped to one day illustrate it & make it into a children’s book for him - that could take years so until then he will enjoy this just as much. I hope you do too ✨
Another card from my nature deck. This one feels pretty apt right now. Life feels like its whizzing by a million miles an hour whilst energetically I feel like I have been wading through mud for weeks. There is a real climb going on over here in the Baker household, some major goals set whilst we navigate a new business venture on the cusp of Christmas - yeah we are mad!
Belief in each other and our vision being the glue that we need rn. The climb is healthy, often the journey greater than the final destination. Going to need a whole lot of strength to get through the next 3 months. 💪
Past.
2 years ago I had the pleasure of working with @easyjosecoffee to tweak their rebrand and design new 100% biodegradable packaging including an illustrated side panel which was my first time illustrating on Procreate! (a program I resisted for years, like my in-laws resist technology 😂) This was the first and probably last time i used the software through to print but i’m really happy with the outcome.
Packaging is no walk in the park and this process from design through to sourcing the right suppliers that could tick all our boxes took nearly a year. Past Brand Manager @annie_edney had the patience of a saint and clear direction for the brand making the whole project a joy ✨
@easyjosecoffee also donate a portion of its profits to @coolearthaction - which is a charity close to my heart 🌳
Mother Create feature 01.
A few years ago I had the joy of creating Ruthies brand identity for @apothecaryforager a process that unfolded as organically and thoughtfully as the work she does.
Now as Ruthie plans to open her first Apothecary in Penzance i thought it would be a good time to ask her some questions reflecting on the last decade of motherhood & running her business.
Q. What’s one thing that helps you keep your business going while showing up as a mother?
A: I am forever grateful to have found my path to herbalism so young. I am driven by deep care for the planet. To me, being a herbalist feels like an important part of the solution on so many levels environmentally and socio-economically. It empowers communities back to our heritage of ecological medicine (when practised consciously). Our children’s future depends on conscious and sustainable living. I believe weeds and wild medicine can help lead the way!
Q: How has motherhood changed the way you create? A: I became a mother and a herbalist all in the same year! I think of how I carry myself in the world, my commitment to healing, my habits, my values, my daily rituals are all part of the blueprint I offer to my son and what inspires his future. Being a mother makes me want to live consciously. It reminds me to also be playful and adventurous!”
Thank you Ruthie! So inspiring ✨🌍
Pt2
Ari has such fond memories of our first trip to @praktyka_project last summer when he was 3, helping light the fire, waterfall walks, running around the beautiful land, feeling free and us knowing he was safe to independently explore. The rain hammering down on the dome, owls cooing through the night and so many wildlife sounds - yet he slept right through each night.🙏🏽 Nature resets him, calms him, regulates him - as it does us, so we function more harmoniously for a short while when we are here.
The space and energy at @praktyka_project is a testament to Henry & Ania who have poured their heart and soul into it and welcome you with open arms. Family, creativity and connection at the heart of what they do - you feel that the moment you arrive. We will return year after year so Ari can build his memories in this place he feels so safe and familiar in. 🌳
