Arcosanti - one of our favourite places on earth. We have been inspired so much by this place for our next build project which is underway (currently giving Jack heart palpitations, night sweats and menty b’s. ) However, with my PMA, creative vision and “the skys the limit” approach we can get through it. 💪🏽 We fell in love with this place on our travels through Arizona, Paolo Soleri’s architecture for the off-grid community built in the 70s had us wowed. The desert landscape, sunsets & sunrises pouring into all the glass windows set amongst coloured slabs of concrete, textures of wood, native plants, steel and bronze bells chiming in the wind. It was such a captivating place & is heavily influencing the feel and design of our next project. More to come…🔨

It is with a heavy heart we have decided to sell our beautiful home Monopitched via @themodernhouse We are relocating to be close to a school that is better suited to Ari’s needs and to have more outside space for him to roam on. I wanted to make this post for any potential viewers or interest in our home because these are the really important factors they dont include in an estate agent listing. The personal and human aspects. I also wanted to document how special and lucky we have been to live here the last 5 years. I got pretty emotional writing these- 1. Our neighbours! Not only both sides but our WHOLE close. We could not have asked for more incredible caring, funny, generous and friendly neighbours who we now call friends. The ones who leave a lasagne and a veggie chilli on your doorstep on the day you return home from having a baby. The ones who drop everything to help you out, if you need a tool, wheel barrow, car trouble, advice or just a listening ear. The neighbours who give you work because they trust you and you employ to help build your house because you trust them (and they never disappoint!) The neighbours whose dogs you walk. The ones who invite you over for curry night & even a Eurovision party. The neighbours who always include you and invite you for dinner over and over again even when you have never got around to hosting after 5 years. The neighbours whose kids you love and grateful their kids love yours. The ones you bump into on the beach and swim with. The neighbours you have formed a fitness club with 6am every monday at the local gym. The neighbours you team up with for the pub quiz The ones who even invite you to their parents vineyard in portugal for dinner with their folks just because you happen to be in the same place at the same time! We have truly learnt the power of community and I will be so sad to leave this behind. Continued in comments.

Finally created our home reel documenting the 2years of building work. I wanted to have it all in one place to look back on and feel proud of how much we did with a pandemic & baby thrown into the mix. I also wanted to show the level of building work the house underwent, this is only a small snippet but it gives a pretty good idea! @therattleshake so grateful for everything you poured into our home. This post is timely because we have come to the hard decision to sell our home 😣 for reasons outside of our control. The next post will give a bit more detail ✨

Only 2wks until my poster babe & kindred spirit @catsarsfield comes for her annual stay in the annex. This is the only time I really get to pretend I am on holiday in our annex & share my love of food whilst being fed (if i’m lucky) by Cat ✨ #sincenooneasked

Snapping a few pics of the annex last week to revamp booking sites - @airbnb guest fees are getting so high we have also started booking.com so we can swallow the cost of the fees & not our guests. But i’m going to get my arse in gear and start marketing more on here so we can also take private bookings without the fees!✨

Spring has landed in the annex and our first guests of the season are staying this weekend. 🌸 We are looking forward to having more of our friends to stay this year to make memories we missed when we were knee deep in building & rubble!

Don’t leave your candle under a skylight during a heatwave unless you want to create a piece of still life artwork. I am going to illustrate this once I get my down time back! looks like this candle is now a permanent sculpture!

A few bathroom details. The original sketch I made on photoshop to mock up how I wanted the bathroom to look - it actually turned out pretty spot on! The biggest achievement was taking this G Plan unit and adding legs, a glass top then fixing a sink to it. 👌🏽 Oh and making the borrowed light out of one of the original 60s corrugated glass doors.

All that’s missing is my famous porridge, some coffee, OJ & avocado on toast. But you can visualise. 🥑☕️ love these thrifted bowls reminding me of the desert 🏜
