Like the rest of our Women in Hollywood, #SaoirseRonan has pushed through the unfamiliar to authentically depict the characters we see on screen. Her two latest roles—in #TheOutrun and the epic World War II drama #Blitz—upend the perception of her as an ‘everygirl’. In ‘The Outrun,’ which Ronan co-produced, she gives a raw portrayal of a woman struggling to get sober. Despite her initial hesitation about the part, she says, “the logical part of me knew that by stepping into the psychology of someone going through it, I could take some of the sting out of it for myself. It really was a way for me to heal from my own wounds.”
