April is Arab American Heritage Month and we’re so excited to finally spotlight a Middle Eastern and Arab-forward cookbook, something we’ve been meaning to celebrate for a while now. It feels especially meaningful to share it with our community this month.
We’re highlighting the work of Mariam Daud, the beloved creator behind
@mxriyum with over a million following across her platforms, whose debut cookbook I Sleep in My Kitchen brings together 100 flavor-forward recipes, including her signature bakes and deeply personal dishes.
And to make the experience even more special, we’ll have exclusive matcha drinks by
@dimatchai , a DMV-based, woman and Arab-owned matcha and tea bar redefining the modern pop-up experience. Known for their signature syrups and culturally inspired flavors, Dimatchai creates more than just drinks, it’s an experience rooted in slowing down, connecting with others and reconnecting with yourself.
@wovenhistory will be hosting us - a true staple of the Eastern Market community and a longtime gem on Capitol Hill. A family-owned textile store that has been connecting people with rugs and weavings from around the world since 1986 beginning as a vendor at the iconic Eastern Market Flea Market.
