MY FIRST BILLBOARD 🤩🥹 One month since the launch of my cookbook and I am still so overwhelmed with gratitude 😭 …so these two billboards in Times Square were just the most beautiful cherry on top
And also such a beautiful part of my day !! before heading to Times Square, I stumbled across the cutest little cookbook store and spotted my book on the shelf!! The owner was so lovely, and I got to sign his copies in store ✎ᝰ If you stop by, tell him I sent you!!
Well … THIS IS A BIG MOMENT !!!!! My debut cookbook, I SLEEP IN MY KITCHEN, is available for preorder now and will officially publish in March 2026. Preorder link in bio!
In September 2023, I let you all know I signed a contract with my dream publisher to write my first cookbook.🥹
Just weeks later, the genocide in Gaza began. I stepped away from posting recipes and used my platforms to bring awareness to my people. My biggest hope is that this cookbook becomes another way to tell the story of Palestine, a place where food and advocacy are able to share a home. As a girl who loves to cook, raised by a mother and father who both love feeding others, this cookbook is my way to continue advocating for our community.
Preorders are more powerful than even I knew. They show bookstores that Palestinian voices matter and deserve to take up space on their shelves. Preorder sales also open doors for me to partner with Palestinian-owned businesses, so this book can live outside of our kitchens, and in our communities. Every single preorder brings me closer to being able to meet you in your own city and share this food with you in person!!! (God willing)

Steak quesadillas with creamy chimichurri ⏲️🎞️

Ingredients:
Steak
1½ lb New York strip steak (skirt, flank, or sirloin also work)
1 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Smoked paprika
1 tsp Garlic powder
1/2 tsp Onion powder
1 tsp Diamond crystal kosher salt
1/2 tsp Black pepper
1/4 tsp white pepper optional
1 small yellow onion
1 Jalapeno
Quesadillas
4 eight inch Flour tortillas or 8 tortillas if you’d like to do double tortilla for each quesadilla instead of folding it over
12 oz Oaxaca cheese, shredded
4 tbsp Salted butter
Creamy Chimichurri
120 grams Sour cream 1/2 cup
10 grams Flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped about 1/2 cup
4-5 grams Cilantro, finely chopped 2 tbsp
1/4 cup Olive oil
2 tbsp White vinegar
3 cloves Garlic, grated
1 tsp Dried oregano
1/2 tsp Dried cilantro
1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp Diamond crystal kosher salt
A squeeze of lime, to taste

I don’t normally talk this much on here, but I’ve definitely been yapping recently ☝🏽 I’ve been working toward my cookbook debut for almost 3 years, and as many of you know, it just came out last week… and we’re # 8 on the NYT Best Seller List !!! 😭🥹🥺😭
My team also told me that I’m the first solo Palestinian author to ever make the list !!! Shukr ya Rabb, Alhamdulillah (˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥) 💝🥹
I feel like I’ve been holding my breath for the last few years working on this. There was so much excitement, but also a lot of fear. Being a vocal Palestinian creator has always been my number one priority, though it’s also brought some really frightening harassment. There were moments where things got quite overwhelming, and I stepped away from social media more than once because I didn’t know if this was something I could continue
This book has so many layers. It was never just about recipes.

If you’ve read the introduction to my cookbook, you already know a little more about them. I’m not someone who loves to share much online, but they deserve every ounce of recognition I can possibly give through my writing, my words, my thoughts, my everything. Because they are my everything.
Life hasn’t always been kind to them, but it took me until I was much older to truly realize that. They carry life’s hardships so elegantly that I didn’t fully understand how much they struggled until my later teens.
Mama and Baba, this cookbook is a testament to the love and sacrifice you’ve given to each and every one of your children. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope I make you proud, and I hope I’m able to repay you in some way in this dunya that is equal to what you’ve done for me.

it’s a strange feeling seeing something I worked on for so long finally out there. It’s really personal to me, but now it also belongs to everyone who ends up cooking from it.
