Unfortunately we’re going to cancel this months dig day, everyone’s busy, away or just ready for a nap…
B&STA would like to thank everyone that made it to a dig day this season for their hard work, commitment and good chat.. it’s been a really fun season and we’ve accomplished a lot.
We usually break now til August for ground nesting bird season but keep an eye out on our socials for odd days here and there that are in areas approved by the landowners we work with.
Speaking of landowners we are super happy to say that we’ll be working with FLS again next season. No firm plans yet but there’s a good chance we’ll start next season back at Badaguish where B&STA had our first ever dig day 😁
Thanks everyone - we hope you have a fun filled summer!

Last weekend some of our team of volunteers completed their DIRTT Volunteer Trail Dig Leader Training qualifying them to help facilitate more volunteers working on the trails!
Thanks to @redbratriding for delivering and the Laggan team for hosting.
Keep an eye on @laggandigcrew and here for upcoming dig day dates.

Today's 16 strong team got out and completed repairs on the bottom of Christ Almighty.
Two sections of stone pitching, two new corners and a finely crafted bridge have turned the recently used forestery machine track back into a sustainable and entertaining trail!
Thanks to everyone who came and got stuck in.

Following on from the forestry works at High Burnside and our last Dig Day, we can confirm that the trails closed for the forestry works are now open.
We updated this on @trailforks after the last Dig Day (February 8th). Removing the red closed area. This has updated on the Trailforks web page but there’s a remaining bug on the app so the area still shows as closed.
The best way to resolve this is to delete the region (United Kingdom) and download it again. We’ve passed the issue onto the Trailforks team who confirmed they are looking into it, but advised this was the current fix.
Apologies to any local guides, shops, or businesses who rely on our trails. This is an issue that as Trailforks Admins we can’t fix (only the developers can)! @tvtrails had the same issue last year.

We had a great day on Sunday. We headed up to clear the top of Trans Burnside Express where the machinery had driven but the trail has held up really well. We’ve cleared sections and added some drainage but figure the riding line will just get ridden in as folks find the best way up.
We the moved onto Christ Almighty, there was more damage here. We’ve fixed up a corner and cleared the trail of debris. We’ve only cleared the original line so hopefully the mass of brash will discourage any new Strava lines appearing. The burn crossing around 2/3 of the way down has a temporary causeway with some plastic pipe. We’ll head back next month to fully armour this section and remove the plastic, please cross this section with caution.
On the way back to base a small feature was removed from Bracken Bashing that was unsafe. We don’t want to be ‘trail police’ - that’s not anyone’s idea of an inclusive group but we also need to ensure the trails are safe, this benefits all riders and also our relationship with the landowner. If you have ideas on features you’d like to see please come along to our dig days and we’ll try our best to support safe projects!
Enjoy the trails!

We had a great wee team out yesterday to fix up some soft spots on the traverse at High Burnside. There’s more to do so weather permitting we’ll be back again next month.
Thanks to all who showed up and got stuck in despite to snow and mud 😅
This month we’re heading back to the skull climb at High Burnside. We’re seeking out soft spots and firming up the boggy bits. Usual meeting place - the entrance gate at 10am. What3Words - ///slogans.splints.flukes. No tools or experience necessary. Any questions pop them below or shoot us a DM.
Hope to see you there!

Due to the current ground conditions we’ll be postponing this weekends dig day for a week, we’ll try again next weekend (Sunday 18th) enjoy the snow while it’s still around!
A good day in the woods doing some repairs & drainage to 'Fluffy Gobbler' upper section. Some drying out required so please ride considerately/delicately where you 👀 see freshness, thanks.
Thanks to everyone who contributed & a big thanks to Rowan who attended today as his first ever digday & who brought lots of enthusiasm - 📸 1. Youths are very welcome. 2nd Sunday of each month we will be somewhere.
