Get ready to be among the very first riders to experience the brand new @rocks.and.wheels71 Pump Track in Dalbeattie at an exciting coaching event on Friday 13th June!
Held just ahead of the Pump Track World Champs UK Qualifier on Saturday 14th June, this is an amazing opportunity for local junior riders to get involved, develop their skills, and be part of a major cycling event.
And there’s even more to ride for, for the first time ever, Youth Qualifiers will have the chance to earn a place at the World Youth Challenge in Sweden!

Fresh Cutter @bryn_appleton smashed his own record, as the youngest ever race finisher of the HT550 yesterday by completing in 4 days, 10 hours and 30 mins!! Over a day quicker than last year!
His @strava stats showing 925km travelled and 20,000 metres climbing. 😳😲
Now it maybe just us but, how the heck does he look so fresh after all that??
Huge congrats to this very modest athlete and to everyone that took part in this iconic ultra.
Special mention also to our pal @kerrymacphee on an outstanding 3rd place overall. What a woman, what an absolute legend!! 💪🥰

Just in case you were going too fast to see it, let's just take a moment to appreciate the beautiful trail work at Pitfichie. This is all down to the skills and hard work of the @aberdeenshiretrail volunteers, professional input from @northlinetrails , contributions from a collective of local event organisers and MTB businesses with additional support from @northeastadventuretourism and @dmbins .
£5 from every entry goes directly to the ATA to support them maintaining the trails across the north east, and the thriving scene of MTB events and businesses built around that work is a very awesome thing indeed!
It's @imba_europe 's "Take Care of Your Trails" month right now, so it's the perfect time to get along to one of the many digs days running all over Scotland to support your local volunteer crew.
Events like ours couldn't happen without them, simple as that.

Another successful trail maintenance session in the bag for IMBA Europe 'Take Care of Your Trails' month! ⛏️🌲 Massive thanks to everyone who attended, especially the crews from @57northadventures , 57North Adventures, @ride.in.peace.adventures ,Ride in Peace Adventures.
Our amazing, all-ages crew worked together to tackle a number of trail features, tidy up the edges, and laying down fresh material to dial in the riding experience. And, of course, we made time afterwards to test out all the hard work and confirm it meets rider standards! 🚵♂️💨

This year, we’re making it easier than ever to connect with your local trail association through our interactive map. We’re also sharing 'Do Yer Bit', a Fresh Cuts film by Sean Green, inspired by insights from the UK Trail Project. It’s a simple reminder that when we all play our part, we help protect and strengthen the places we ride.

Whilst we’ve been enjoying high temperatures in towns and cities, remember the higher mountain tops can still feel like winter!
Inspector Matt Smith, Police Scotland Mountain Rescue Lead said:
“The onset of spring has brought more settled weather and a welcome increase in daylight hours which encourages more people to head out. We’d remind those seeking to venture into the outdoors to take care, some winter ground conditions still prevail in the hills up high with pockets of snow not always avoidable.”
Make sure you’re well prepared and still pack your layers this weekend.

Coming up in May, there’s not one, but two Scottish races happening at Pitfichie! We’d love to see as many women at these races as possible, so come along for a ride with us, scope out the trails at Pitfichie, and sign up to race them! 🙌
Here’s the deets:
- Sunday, 3rd May 9:30am (Meet at Pitfichie Downhill Car Park)
- Bring plenty of food/water
- E-bikes are more than welcome, but know we’ll be riding at a social, analogue pace
- Non-racers are welcome to the social ride
- Ladies are welcome to bring their bf/husband/pal if they would like to. It’s women-focused, but we’re not against friendly guys joining if they’d like a social pedal too
Note: we will not be specifically riding the race trails, it’s just a way to get used to the terrain/style of riding available at Pitfichie
