Thank you to our volunteers and supporters In 2025, Tweed Valley Trail Association delivered a huge amount of work on the ground and behind the scenes, all made possible by the dedication of our community and supporters. Together, we achieved: • 143 contractor-equivalent days delivered • 82 days of on-the-ground volunteer trail work • 45 days of coordination, safety, planning & access work • 77 volunteers contributing their time and skills • 13 public dig days • 2,000+ rides per month on Lower Wolves , recorded using trail counter data These numbers represent thousands of hours freely given to build, maintain and manage trails that are heavily used and widely valued. From digging and inspections to planning, fundraising, access negotiations and safety, this work directly supports sustainable, high-quality riding in the Tweed Valley. A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, supported, funded, and backed this work, this impact simply wouldn’t happen without you. Looking to sign up as a regular supporter or volunteer? šŸŖ Trail Crew Update! šŸŖ We’re stoked to announce that Evan McConnell @evan__mcconnell has joined the team, stepping in to continue the great work that Wes & Shay started! Evan’s already been busy this season working alongside Shay on the UCI World DH tracks, and now he’s joining our TVTA Trail Maintenance Initiative, where our contractors dedicate 2 days per week to keeping our trails running sweet. Originally launched as a 6-month pilot, this project has been such a success - thanks to amazing community support & the dedication from our contractors - we're thrilled to extend it for another year! Our long-term goal is to expand this program even further… but we need your help. šŸ‘‰ Become a TVTA member or donate to keep this work rolling and help us grow! And remember, TVTA also relies on our incredible volunteers, come along, get involved, and be part of sustaining the awesome trail network we all love. You can sign up for any of our Dig Days via Eventbrite, just head to our website to find the link. 🌲 šŸ“ø šŸŽ„ @innesgrahambike šŸ¤™ If you see Evan and Shay out on the hill, give them a wave, stop for a chat, and say hey šŸ‘‹ #takecareofyourtrails #communitytrails #trailcrew #tvta

New Trail Alert: LOWER WOLVES 🐺 is OPEN! šŸ“ Caberston / The Golfie We’re excited to officially open Lower Wolves – the latest addition to the Golfie trail network! This fresh line is fast, flowy, and full of character – a massive shoutout to the skilled hands behind the build: @shay.hayton & @wesfife155 , whose work speaks for itself. All work was completed obtaining the necessary permissions from the land owners - @forestryandlandscot , taking into consideration safety & environmental factors when planning the route / construction. This project couldn’t have happened without the incredible community backing. Huge thanks to our sponsors: šŸ’„ @tweedvalleybikes šŸ’„ @rideinnerleithen šŸ’„ @tempestbrewingco And of course, a heartfelt THANK YOU to every TVTA member, volunteer, and donator who gave time, tools, or support to help bring this trail to life. You make this all possible. Want to see more trails like this? Please consider supporting the ongoing trail building and maintenance in the Tweed Valley by joining TVTA, donating, or getting involved. Every bit helps to keep the wheels turning. šŸŽ„ @trobelarone šŸ¤™ for helping us out in producing the cool media. šŸŽ‰ Now go ride it – enjoy folks. #LowerWolves #TweedValleyTrails #TVTA #TrailBuilding #RideInnerleithen #TempestBrewing #TweedValleyBikes #SupportYourTrails

A few more shots to show off the results of the outstanding work the @tvtrails team do across the hill. Without the behind the scenes work of trail associations around the country, there would be a lot less to ride and even less to host races like ours. While we donate £5 per rider to the upkeep of the trails, we'd also like to encourage everyone to go along to at least one of your local trail associations dig days and help out. Boots on the ground are just as important a part of keeping everything running great. They're also a great way to get to know the trails, other riders, and to ensure we have a healthy and thriving enduro scene across the country.

With the first round of the Scottish Enduro Series @scottishenduro now wrapped up, we wanted to take a moment to highlight the huge amount of trail work that went on in the Tweed Valley in the weeks leading up to the event. What a brilliant, sold-out race it turned out to be, run in some ideal conditions. The course was tough, and the racing was fierce right across the field. Thanks to the incredible support from every rider entering the event, and the Ā£5 donation from each entry going directly to the Tweed Valley Trail Association, we were able to carry out extensive work across all of the course trails. Our contractor team (@shay.hayton @evan__mcconnell ) and volunteers were out in force tackling a wide range of improvements, including: • Tree clearing and chainsaw work to keep trails open, safe and flowing - thanks @hardy_arb_and_forestry & FLS for the chainsaw work and license approval (FLS). • Fall zone clearing and safety improvements - @hardy_arb_and_forestry • General trail maintenance to ensure the best possible riding conditions We hope you all had an amazing day out there , and thank you for helping make it happen. This level of work simply wouldn’t be possible without the backing of the riding community. Every entry directly contributed to safer, more sustainable, and more enjoyable trails for everyone. #supportyourtrailsassociation #mtbtrails

Another great volunteer day grafting on Nae Spleens exit. With most of the TVTA team out prepping the SES course and practicing for tomorrows @scottishenduro We still managed some great work - laying in drainage and doing some more rock work, not an easy one with the water springs right on the exit route....won't be long until we can get it opened up for first rides. Thanks to everyone who attended and a special mention to @fortanactivewear for donating this months raffle prize - a Fortan ride jersey won by Mike. Good luck to everyone racing tomorrow....hope you all enjoy the trails.

Meet Rob Toth - our latest Board Member Rob is a newcomer to the Tweed Valley and is keen to get involved in looking after the trails that make the area so special. As a regular rider, and with a young son just starting out, he’s motivated to help keep the trail network sustainable and something future generations can enjoy. Rob brings several years’ experience from working in the commercial side of a charity, in a highly regulated environment, and is keen to use that to support TVTA’s governance and development wherever it’s useful. He’s also currently working towards his dig leader accreditation — getting stuck in on the ground and helping support the volunteer community that keeps the trails running at their best.

Our Contractors were out on the trails today Inspecting and dealing with storm damage on our adopted trails from storm Dave. Be careful on the trails as there may still be trees down / hanging. Please let us know if you come across any storm damage on the trails! RSC/ Hangover/ Ray Ling are completely blocked where they exit onto the core path. (Last photo is RSC)

Meet Nick Mackie - One of (3) new TVTA board members. @nick.mackie.127 is a Peebles-based rider with a background in strategy and tech product consulting. When he's not riding in the valley he's usually busy with family life and running a small advisory practice. At TVTA he's particularly keen to support the hands-on side of the charity's work - helping maintain, improve and grow the trail network that makes the Tweed Valley a world-class place to visit and ride. Give Nick a šŸ‘‹ if you see him out digging or riding!
