Had a clear out yesterday and came across these trophies and medals from my years of powerlifting. There are a few missing but this is the majority of them. Most won't know but I've been powerlifting for about 16-17yrs when going to a British there where just over a handle of people in attendance. When we talk about greater london powerlifting the bulk of us came out of BGWLC comprising of myself, @thomas.celestin @erickjantuah @ivanotim12233 and of course the coach leading the pack in @deadliftbig . I've competed in numerous British championship where I have medalled and numerous divisinals around the UK. Its been a great journey to see where British powerlifting has come now and glad to still be apart of it.

2026 European masters classic powerlifting championships First of all I'll say what a blessing and privilege it is to represent the @gbpowerfed masters team for the very first time despite a 20+ years in this sport. As its said... Anything worth having is worth fight for and doesn't come easy. Timing is everything and what's for you will come when the times right. This was an experience and a half for all the right and wrong reasons but there's always valuable lessons to be learned in anything new you do. As I said I'm thankful and appreciative to be in this position. Despite all the adversity leading up to the competition and during it, I am pleased with what I managed to put together. I would like to thank Charlotte for handling me in the warm up area much appreciated and coach: martin bass who has a little bit of everything you need and always been consistent with it. Can't forget the @bethnalgreenwlc support.. We come in heavy🙌🏾 @oulunpowerteam great job with venue, how everything came together faultless. Last but no least @spottingteam_germany you make a difference. Thanks for your energy and support.

I have eventually got round to putting this up. This being the British classic powerlifting comp from the week end. I will say even though what I wanted wasn't in me that day what I delivered I am pleased with. Training for the British was enlightening and enjoyable with alot to learn from which I'm encouraged by 🔥🔥🔥 My #BGWLC ppls big shout out to you all. When we come out we show out. The best supporters in the world. @moawikner & @bd_pwrlifting_ldn they definitely showed out...the support from all was much appreciated. Grafting hard and at the top of his game for decades, and now continuing that into M2. Diego Martinez-Rodney @diego3tl Another long-standing member of the gym, consistently putting in the work leading to his first international. Battling some difficult cards in the lead up and showing everyone how to perform anyway. Reece Smith @reece_120kg A member for over a decade, inspiring all members of the gym with his energy and execution. An outstanding performance for his second masters international. And a shout out of course to not only the Head Coach of BGWLC but also of GB Masters, @deadliftbig . Bringing home team medals across the board with the GB squad. * British masters championship 2025 recap * 29/6/25 Want to say a big thank you to the organisers @gbpowerfed as the nationals was put together very well. Made it easy for us lifters to perform and not forgetting the spotters great work. Shout out to @bethnalgreenwlc ... We different. Being in this sport for aslong as I have. People come and go but what remains is the strength in community and support. @deadliftbig .. Coach made it possible where I had small doubts I'd be ready for a nationals within 2months, to atleast be competitive. You reminded me what I'm capable of and that showed on the day. I appreciate you 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I am definitely looking forward to being a full fledged masters lifter next year after feeling that fire to compete again in such a great atmosphere. Despite no silverware as I lifted as a GUEST, I will take the unofficial win 🏆.. And hope to solidify next year. ... 2019 British champs 4th place would be the last time I stepped foot on a platform. Throughout the years going forward I went back and forth asking myself whether I wanted to come back and put my body through this all again. Life happened and things change over time and years fly by. This video would inevitably answer that question. Powerlifting has been a big part of my life journey from as early as 17 yrs old and I am still here chasing down goals lol.
