A couple more snaps of our Canberra project Capital Jade. This is a beautiful example of what can be achieved on a budget with hands-on owners. This beauty is soon to be on the market.

A compact home designed to live large. Sun & Moon Apartment by @dhagedesigns rethinks apartment living through a smart, flexible use of space that challenges conventional ideas of scale. Set within a north-facing penthouse overlooking Elizabeth Bay, the design maximises light, outlook and functionality to create a home that feels both expansive and inviting. Clever custom joinery and a refined open-plan layout prioritise generous social zones, making entertaining effortless. From an 8-person dining setting to a modular living area, every element is designed to adapt, ensuring the home works beautifully for both everyday living and hosting. 🏡 You can view Sun & Moon Apartment and more projects by D. The rooms that stay with you are never the ones packed with stuff. A quality designer sofa that earns its place. A painting that actually means something. Space that lets you breathe. When every piece is the right piece, you stop needing more of them. Less, always less.

White Glove Service! We have precious cargo over at Bijoux House. Positioning wall lamps on site is key before the services go in - drawings aren’t reality, sometimes the human eye can make a big difference. These babies have travelled all around the world for this project - although a few are local (check out the emu egg!).

Sun & Moon Apartment People often position the bedroom in the wrong area of a home. This 45m2 pied-à-terre in Elizabeth Bay, there was a huge bedroom when we first found it (last pic). By creating this little nook, we moved the bedroom from occupying the main space, the gorgeous views, and the most significant daylight. It still had a little window pointed away from the street that provided ventilation and ambient light. We often forget that a bedroom is mostly going to be used at night. It needs to be comfortable, quiet, and cosy - it doesn't need to occupy prime floorspace.

The first glimpse of a room! We always think about the interconnectedness of spaces when choosing materials. The exuberance and sharpness of this monochromatic view of bathroom tiles shine in the neutral warmth of the bedroom. Once you enter, the wood and neutral warmth are reintroduced. 400 Twist - an MCM classic ex-government housing renovation in Canberra. We looked at how to make a high impact with humble materials, how to clarify the flow and connection to the gardens, and how to connect with the MCM roots without making a retro theme park. Purple Stairs, Red Terrace. We love going big in a small space! This double staircase offered storage, spatial division, seating, natural light, and a strong visual centrepiece to this classic Dutch red brick terrace.
