Late post-Thanksiging post. My job keeps me more focused on home cooking than restaurants, but I was lucky to meet @anabanana_castro at the F&W Classic earlier this year and then visit her NOLA restaurant, Lengua Madre, while there for turkey day. The dinner was incredible (this sope pictured was just one of many great courses), and I can't wait to come back when she opens her seafood spot, Acamaya, next year. Bonus of making a new chef friend? She let me raid her walk-in when I couldn't find passion fruit puree for some big-batch Hurricanes I made for Thanksgiving dinner. Life saver!

Back from a fantastic trip to Aspen for the 40th anniversary of the Food & Wine Classic. Ten+ years ago I attended as a F&W editor, but this year was back representing Serious Eats as we hosted a wok-cooking demo with @kenjilopezalt , which was a ton of fun. Some highlights: the welcome dinner w insanely delicious food from @meilin21 and @brandoj , caviar bumps, a lovely al fresco dinner hosted by Stanley Tucci, a mind-blowing concert by the Tedeschi Trucks Band (@derekandsusan ), a perfect masa-fueled lunch by the @comal.kitchen , and Rocky Mountain views galore. So great being there w OG F&W friends @justinchapple , @fwscout /@speakingbroadly , @recipegoddess , @rayisle , @anthonygiglio , @gailsimmonseats and @diella , along w @seriouseats visual director @amandamsuarez . Big congrats to @notesfromacook , @katkinsman and the whole @foodandwine crew. #fwclassic
