Taking it back to 2004. I was browsing the new arrival wall at Vertigo Music in Grand Rapids, MI and a staff member put a sticky note on this album that basically told me my life was about to change. They weren't lying.
It’s wild to think this duo defined a whole era of dance-punk with just a drum kit and a Rickenbacker. Massive shoutout to the local record store legends who point us toward the sounds we didn't know we needed.
Twenty-plus years later, and You're a Woman, I'm a Machine from DFA1979 still rips just as hard as the first day I heard it.
