Happy Mother’s Day! ♥️✨🫶🏻💋
Today can hold a lot of complex emotions for many of us, and I want to take a moment to acknowledge that.
Mothering is a wild journey because the heart becomes so completely invested. It’s a love like no other — and with that can come an ache like no other, too. Many people are grieving today: grieving the loss of their mom, grieving the loss of a child, or grieving the ache of a dream that changed or never came to be.
I remember Mother’s Day once being one of the hardest days in my own journey. It felt deeply painful. My journey to mommy life was not easy. Many of you know our song “Garbage” speaks to that journey. Thank GOD for music and how it helps us process difficult emotions.
And yet, celebrating our mothers is such an important part of today. We lost Drew’s mom just over a year ago, and we miss her deeply.
My mother, @lanaheykants , is beyond beautiful. She’s an incredible person with a grace to grow and love like no one else I’ve known. She is brave, and I’m so proud of her. Love you mom💗
I also have a few friends who have recently lost babies. Miscarriage is such a heartbreaking loss. If you’ve walked that road, I’m so sorry.
Needless to say, today is mixed. A weaving of joy and sorrow.
Wherever you’re at in the journey, please remember, nothing is a waste. You are beautiful, you are loved, you are strong.

✨✋Mannnnnn!!!! It’s been a minute friends. We’ve taken a wee bit of breathing time to get back in the ole saddle, as it were. And that’s because we’ve been scheming away. Amongst other thingsss. Writing, gathering, healing, planning, eating freaking delicious ramen and working to be the best versions of ourselves, so we can bring the BEST music possible to YOU. Our friends, fam, fans (can we just call you that? Fan friends fam? 🤞 By now it’s feeling like we’re there if you ask us.)
So much has gone down, and life’s gotten really real. But I know the musics gonna sore because of these lived experiences. Can’t WAIT to share. We’re still in writing mode, but we’re chipping away at it.🫶🏻 Bringin it back to home slice with myself and @drewmct to make something truly authentic. 🙌 Let’s do this, shall we? What an incredible show in Sherwood Park @festivalplacesp ! We laughed, we cried, we told stories, we met Jerry and Pam;) I convinced @drewmct to sing me a love song. ✨💗✨Some of you got a surprise when you found out it was acoustic. Ha. And I got to open the show with @larkkmusic … all around, It felt extremely special!

I’d like to start with my Alvarez. I got this guitar from a man named Graham Sharkey—(GOON) he sold it to my parents, and the rest is history.
So many hours have been spent with it: writing, touring, and dreaming about what my life could look like playing shows. It’s wild how an instrument becomes a part of you… how the stories live inside the instruments themselves.
I thought it’d be fun to share the stories behind when and where I got each of my guitars. And for all you collectors out there—you know exactly what I mean. 🎸✨
(Oh also— sorry about saying “this guitar” so much.. haha)
A decade ago — 2016. We were kids just messing around in the prime of life. The year that changed everything: a Juno on the shelf, Phases coming to life, meeting our heroes, and collecting memories with the friends who made it all matter. Forever grateful ❤️❤️❤️ #2016
