Our Logo: A Story of Two Worlds
The Devocean Divers logo carries the soul of Malapascua—where it all began.
The thresher shark, our original symbol, represents the unique marine life and the deep connection we formed with the ocean on that special island. It’s a tribute to our roots, where we became known for professionalism, care, and passion for diving.
Now in Playa del Carmen, our focus shifts from deep ocean life to the mystery of the underground world—the caverns and caves of Quintana Roo.
To honor this evolution, we’ve incorporated the “cookie”—a non-directional cave diving marker—into our identity. It’s a symbol of exploration, precision, and commitment to safety in technical and cave diving.
The logo reflects both our history and our future:
From the open blue with thresher sharks…
To the hidden realms of the cenotes.
Different depths, same passion.
In the deep, we connect.

“In the deep we connect”
is more than a motto—it’s our philosophy.
At Devocean Divers, we started as a trusted leader in recreational diving on Malapascua Island, known for our passion, care, and community.
Now in Playa del Carmen, we bring that same heart to new depths— @devocean_divers_mex
from cenote tours to technical and cave diving,
we connect with divers through shared adventure, discovery, and respect for the deep.
Whether you’re just starting your journey or pushing your limits,
Devocean is where passion meets professionalism—at every level, in every location.

Devocean Divers is more than a dive center—
It’s a name built on over a decade of experience.
Born on Malapascua Island, Philippines,
and now making waves in Mexico,
we bring the same trusted quality, professionalism, and passion to every dive.
Join the legacy. Dive Devocean.

Every logo tells a story and this one represents much more than just a design.
The inspiration behind Devocean Divers Mexico came from combining several important elements of our diving philosophy and identity.
First, we wanted to honor the original idea and logo of @devoceandivers Malapascua , the place where the vision, passion, and spirit of exploration first began. The original design became the foundation and inspiration for this new evolution.
The second element comes from the world of cave diving: the cave cookie.
For non-cave divers, cookies are personal navigation markers used on guideline systems inside caves and cenotes.
They help divers identify routes, exits, teams, and safety references during complex dives. These markers are an essential part of cave diving culture, communication, and safety…also they come from here in late 1990’s
By combining the concept of the cave cookie with the original Devocean identity, we created a logo that represents both worlds together:
exploration, safety, education, and adventure.
The colors and shape symbolize the connection between ocean diving and the incredible underground world of caves and cenotes in Mexico.
This logo represents our vision:
teaching with passion, exploring responsibly, and sharing the beauty of cave and cenote diving with divers from around the world.

Big congratulations to Monika in 🇩🇪 Germany, patiently waiting to come and start her Cave Course, adventure to come ! 🕳️🤿
And huge respect as well to Phil and Lynn from 🇨🇦 Canada!
All three are putting in the work and crushing their Master Fundamentals theory classes. The journey starts long before entering the cave dedication, discipline, and knowledge first.
Excited to see you all take the next step underwater! 💪🌊

Cave diving is one of the most beautiful experiences underwater and one of the most unforgiving.
This warning sign exists because too many divers believed that open water experience alone was enough. It isn’t. Cave environments remove your direct access to the surface, visibility can disappear instantly, and a single equipment failure or navigation mistake can become fatal.
Proper cave training teaches:
• Gas management
• Guideline procedures
• Emergency protocols
• Team communication
• Buoyancy and trim control
• Stress management in overhead environments
Proper cave equipment matters just as much:
• Redundant gas systems
• Primary and backup lights
• Reel and guideline systems
• Streamlined configurations
• Exposure protection and redundancy
The right training and equipment are not about looking technical they are about coming home safely.
There is nothing inside a cave worth risking your life for without preparation.
Train properly. Dive within your limits. Respect the cave.
The IDF Cave Diver and Full Cave Diver programs are designed to build real-world skills, confidence, and awareness for overhead environments.
Through the program, divers learn:
• Proper cave dive planning
• Gas management and redundancy
• Guideline and navigation procedures
• Emergency and lost-line protocols
• Sidemount and cave equipment configuration
• Buoyancy, trim, and propulsion techniques
• Stress management and team communication
• Problem solving in zero visibility situations
The Full Cave program takes divers even further, developing the ability to safely conduct complex cave penetrations, navigational decisions, jumps, gaps, circuits, and advanced cave procedures while maintaining control and awareness in one of the most demanding environments in diving.
At @internationaldivingfederation , training is not about collecting certifications.
It is about creating safer, more capable divers who understand the responsibility of cave exploration.
The cave does not forgive mistakes.
Training and proper equipment are what allow us t

Small size. Massive power. 🔦🔥
The new @orcatorch orca7, proves that serious performance can come in a compact torch. With an incredible 3000 lumens, this backup light cuts through darkness with ease, making it perfect for cavern and cave diving environments.
During last week I was trying out with real divers the performance of the torch like getting their own feedback.
In low visibility and overhead environments, having a powerful and reliable backup light is not just comfort it’s safety. The focused beam makes it incredibly easy to guide divers, communicate underwater, and keep the team together during cavern tours or cave training dives.
Compact, lightweight, and extremely powerful exactly what every diver needs clipped to their harness. 🤿
At @devocean_divers_mex , we trust equipment that performs when it matters most.

From island waters to hidden underground worlds 🌊✨
Lucía first joined us at @devoceandivers to complete her IDC the last years driven, focused, and ready to take her diving to the next level. Months later, her journey brought her somewhere completely different for her vacations … the mystical cenotes with @devocean_divers_mex
Trading open ocean for crystal clear caverns, she embraced a new kind of adventure gliding through light beams, rock formations, and the silent beauty beneath the surface.
It’s always special to see divers come full circle, continuing to explore, grow, and challenge themselves in new environments.
From Malapascua to playa del Carmen “ the cenotes” #what a journey 💙
