No two days look the same at Survivors’ Network, and that’s exactly why we love what we do. 💜 One day, our Head of Training & Partnerships, Helen, might be supporting university students; the next, she’s connecting with the gaming community. We go wherever these conversations are needed most, because we know that the roots of sexism and sexual violence can take hold anywhere. By showing up in every space, from campuses to consoles, we’re working to build a world where everyone feels safe and seen. That's why we are so honoured to have the opportunity to talk at this year's @developconference , because the truth is, the gaming spaces we love aren't always safe for everyone. Sexism and sexual violence don’t stop at the screen; they affect real lives every day. Join us for our session, Sexism, Sexual Safety and Allyship in Gaming at July's conference, as we explore how each of us can show up for those impacted and develop our own allyship, both online and off. If you’re attending, please come say hello. Let’s make the gaming industry a safer place together. 👋✨

Tracked Illusions- last of the comeback posts lol. My weird digital puppet idea that actual has become a thing. From initial R&D at Portsmouth CCI XR Centre @uniportccixr , testing whether we could track a puppet at all and then in real time (yep, it works), to further R&D at Target3D @target3d_ltd and @digitalcatapult capturing both the puppet and puppeteers simultaneously (yep, that works too). We also captured some bonkers volumetric data with minimal inclusions — honestly wild. Then taking that data and collaborating with RevRooms @revroomsaudio on facial and audio capture, translating the puppeteers’ performances into vocal and facial animation for the puppet. From there we pushed things further, creating digital MetaHumans and environments as proof-of-concept usage case examples — which we showcased last year at Develop:Brighton. @developconference Tracked illusions / digital puppet R&D studio vibes ✨ So many brilliant collaborations with creative folk across the spaces I love to exist in — VFX, games, Mo/PCap, and puppetry — carving our own path. If you like something and it doesn’t exist… make it. Michael @m_jeanmarain and I are already scheming ideas for this year. We want to keep experimenting with how puppetry capture can interrelate with creative tech spaces — so if you’ve got an idea, give us a shout. There’s so much we can do with this 💥 As always, every puppet project I do is designed, made, and created by Holly Groves @hollygrace.design — truly the best — and my forever puppet-making pal 🖤 Ariel’s been puppeteered by so many generous and awesome puppeteers, always so grateful for our lovely strange community.

In this bonus episode recorded at the 2025 @developconference , we hear from Adam Mcglynn, an Employment Associate at the legal firm @mishcondereyalegal . He breaks down one of the most fundamental yet complex areas every creative business must navigate, understanding employment status and getting working classifications right from day one. How do you hire the right person for your team? And once you’ve found them, how do you set them up for success from day one? This is a bonus episode recorded live at the Develop:Brighton event in July 2025. In this episode, Leon Killin, Strategic People Consultant at BalancePatch, discusses the practicalities of hiring in today’s games industry landscape.  Leon emphasises that successful hiring doesn’t end with recruitment, but that equal care should be put into onboarding. He says that integration into a team shouldn’t be a one-day event, but an ongoing journey of building belonging and legacy within your organisation. The WorkWise for Screen podcast is supported by the BFI, awarding National Lottery Funding. Listen on your favourite platform via the link in bio 🎧
