Another year working on 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘛𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘔𝘦 𝘞𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦. I am so grateful to be invited into people’s communal and personal spaces, to be told the journeys of generations of the diaspora. It has informed so much in both how I make images and how I live my life amongst the turmoil of events over 70 years in the making. We find peace in solidarity and community, no matter the distance. Working to find some structure and sequence to a project that will continue for many years has been more of a recent effort. Here are some test/portfolio prints in random arrangements and a book maquette, stab binding with waxed thread. I don’t think IG will let me tag everyone, but I will try. I love you all and can’t wait to see you again. “Tell me the story Of all these things Beginning wherever you wish, tell even us” -Theresa Hak Kyung Cha

We are thrilled to continue introducing the 40 artists selected through the Regional Open Call East and Southeast Asian Panorama and the 45 artists from the Global Open Call Women by Women. Chosen from thousands of submissions by our esteemed juries, these artists will be exhibited at the PhotoVogue Festival 2026 in Milan. Today’s first artist is @devblaskovich , selected through the Regional open call. Balskovich is a Korean/American artist whose work focuses on diasporic identity, the materiality of labor, and the relationship between privilege and accessibility. They Told Me We’re Heading Somewhere documents diasporic Korean people in spaces of domesticity, community, and nature in the United States, challenging the reductive Western narratives.

So incredibly grateful to be able to spend three days volunteering at the People’s Summit for Korea, put together by @nodutdol alongside dozens of other incredible contributing and supporting orgs from across the globe. Over a dozen incredible panels and workshops focused on acquiring the tools to move toward national liberation — from deconstructing colonial propaganda and the US military industrial complex to deeper understandings of how interconnected we all are with folks under occupation in the global south. Learning and unlearning one’s role in and outside of empire is a continuous, often paralyzing task, but events like this remind me that it’s a collective endeavor and there are always pathways to support and be supported. Many of the panels and workshops were livestreamed and are still available to view via @btnewsroom , a playlist is on my profile as well. I hope folks will watch, stay updated, and provide resources if you have the capacity. If you’re in NYC the next event is already happening next week, I hope to see you there! Toojeng!

Where the design jobs are in 2025 — print and digital editorial for @fastcompany 💡 Had a lovely time working on this series, from texting and calling friends about their favorite tools to sourcing objects on the road and pilfering through Breanna’s family home for bits and bobs. Still life shoots while in the van is a sometimes stressful but consistently inspiring experience, transient objects and props maneuvering through spaces, some staying forever and some only briefly. Very special thanks to @msjeannegraves for trusting me on this one and looking forward to sharing more from this soon!
