On the occasion of the opening of the @fondationcartier at Place du Palais-Royal in Paris, we had the pleasure of designing the visual communication for the inaugural exhibition “Exposition générale.” This campaign also marks the first appearance of the new logotype and visual identity we designed — the result of two years of creation and collaboration. More to come soon. Many thanks to all the teams @fondationcartier for the great experience! This monograph offers some keys to understanding the career of Gérard Ifert, Swiss designer based in Paris. In four chapters, it explores different aspects of his work, highlights the cross-disciplinary nature that unites them, and investigates a unique approach to design that was specific to the context of the second half of the twentieth century. [Book design] A new exhibition catalogue we designed just before the summer break for the huge and highly successful @wolfgang_tillmans show at @centrepompidou (on view until September 22). It’s also the very last exhibition in the Piano and Rogers building before five years of renovation begin. We’ll truly miss this place, but we’re excited to keep collaborating with such an important museum in our studio’s history. Our very first project for Centre Pompidou was 20 years ago, for the unforgettable “Dada” exhibition. #graphicdesign #bookdesigner #centrepompidou #wolfgangtillmans #devalence

💥 New! A major update for Dada Grotesk 💥 Dada Grotesk is a typeface designed by Gaël Etienne @gaeletienne and deValence @devalence_paris for the outstanding exhibition, Dada, which took place in 2005 at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Its design is based on a typeface called Aurora Grotesk, which was used on third and fourth issues of the Dada journal edited by Tristan Tzara. While maintaining the idiosyncrasies of the original drawing, Gaël Etienne and deValence developed a contemporary typeface. With its modulated stroke curves—resembling hooks—and terminals finishing at varying angles, Dada Grotesk exults an interesting warmth and dynamism. Dada Grotesk has been completly redrawn and completed with a new range of weights going from Light to Super. We are also pleased to introduce Dada Grotesk Pan, the Cyrillic and Greek extension of Dada Grotesk which provides accurate and genuine letterforms created for pan-european communication 🌏 #dada #dadagrotesk #devalence #gaeletienne #typography #typedesign #typeface #optimotype #optimofoundry #365typefaces #contemporarytype #design #graphicdesign #designfeed
