Last visit to the exhibition « Japanese graphic design today » I curated @museumgestaltung with inhouse curator @damian_fopp It’s been a real pleasure and a great honor to work in Zurich in that Museum where I have been used to see amazing exhibitions. Thank you @museumgestaltung and @lesigne_cndg for hosting this project which took several years of my life. Thanks to @japanfoundation @fondationdesartistes #dnpfoundation for supporting the project and @institut_tokyo for the help in Tokyo I can not make the whole liste here but sure I will do in the book that we will publish with @editionsb42 next year. Avec @stephanie.lacombe.photography nous avons parcouru ce territoire. C'est là d'où je viens. «Beau Caillou» c'est le titre du livre qui sort le 17 mai prochain. Présentation et lancement chez @librairie_volume le 29 mai à 19h30. Beaucaire. Une ville au nord du delta du Rhône. Un plateau calcaire, une plaine fertile, un fleuve. Une carrière ayant servi à la construction d’un château moyenâgeux en grande partie détruit et alimentant aujourd’hui une usine de ciment. Un incinérateur. Une ancienne voie romaine. Un canal et un port de plaisance. Une zone artisanale. Un centre-ville délaissé, des immeubles d’habitation à loyer modéré vieillissants, des zones pavillonnaires récentes. Une population. Des habitants. Des groupes d’individus constitués. Un mouvement centripète. Un centre, des zones. Pendant plusieurs mois, Alexandre Dimos et Stéphanie Lacombe ont parcouru cette ville pour tenter d’en saisir les mécanismes et les dynamiques à travers un récit documentaire et photographique. Deux points de vue se croisent et tentent, en décrivant chacun à leur manière cet espace, d’en interroger les modes de vie. Beaucaire est une cité en mouvement et en tension, où craintes et fantasmes, espérances et assèchement des imaginaires, multiplicités et différences distendent le lien social.
