In honor of International Women’s Day, I’d like to introduce you to one of our women, Janelle… who was most likely a star being wrapped in a human shell.
Janelle was an integral part of the
@thedojoinitiation sisterhood… the band of angels I’ve been blessed enough to deep dive, shadow dance, and spark back to life with over and over again in these last six years.
We’ve held it down for one another through massive moments of healing, transformation, and celebration along our paths — falling in and out of love, switching jobs and states, expanding our art and our impacts, breakups and makeups, losing loved ones, weddings and divorces, illnesses and recoveries, birthing babies and businesses, sleepover parties and medicine ceremonies…
Making peace with our pasts.
Landing in our presents.
Leaning into the callings of our futures.
So many hellos and goodbyes by each other’s sides…
Laughing, crying, playing, praying, singing, dancing.
And now, we are faced with the incredible challenge and honor of mourning + celebrating simultaneously.
Janelle was an author, actress, mentor, breathwork facilitator, massage therapist, adventurer, songbird, and silent disco dancing queen.
A wise woman with an even wiser inner child.
A former Miss Colorado, and now our group’s first ambassador in the beyond.
Sweet friend, blazing starlight…
Brightest smile. Crystalline eyes…
The whole cosmos is your playground now.
And we remain here, in the warmth of your afterglow.
Love and miss you always, Janelle…
The impact of your existence ripples on and on…
I trust that it is well with your soul.
