Before you sleep: Take a little moment of stillness Think about them The ones on the roads, Wandering about In search of warmth At least, just a place of rest And maybe,a covering on their head. Think about the ones being starved After futile efforts during the day From places to places From streets to streets Hoping one will be kind enough To give an alm Of a bite of food,or a kobo Amidst this struggle Night came And it calls for rest But where is the shelter? And have you wondered where they are? I mean the ones who lead them to this world? Perhaps, they are also out there Being tossed about ,by the thrives of life Or the cold hands of death Grasped them at the peak of life. Living these ones behind To figure out what life Lay ahead of them. And tomorrow, they'll wake again As they Journey along with swear symbolizing the weight of responsibility placed on African children. #thegirlfromthesource #trialsoftheafricanchildren #burdensoftheyoung

I actually wonder if survival is slowly becoming the only thing many of us know how to do. You wake up, respond to messages, show up for work, smile small-small, post online, check on people… And because life doesn’t pause, you keep moving. The scary part is how suffering can start to feel normal. You get so used to “managing” that you stop asking yourself if you’re actually okay. And the truth? Survival mode can make you strong, but it can also make you numb. You stop celebrating little wins. You stop resting without guilt. You stop expecting softness from life. Sometimes when people say to me “I’m tired,” I understand they’re not talking about sleep. They mean: “I’m tired of carrying everything.” “I’m tired of being strong every time.” “I’m tired of figuring life out alone.” Yet somehow… we still continue. Maybe that continuation itself is the courage. If you’re currently in this phase I’m sending you loads of ❤️ and 🫂 right now. Yóòda💡 #thegirlfromthesource

Gambling addiction is no longer affecting only adult men. More young people, especially teenage girls, are gradually being exposed to gambling through online platforms, peer influence, social media culture, and the illusion of quick money. Last week, @gamblealertng visited five secondary schools across Osun State, engaging students in honest conversations about gambling addiction, mental health, peer pressure, financial discipline, and responsible decision-making. At Gamble Alert, we remain committed to creating awareness, promoting responsible gaming, encouraging early intervention, and advocating for healthier communities through education and advocacy. As we continue this journey, we also look forward to the Responsible Gaming Symposium #TRGS2026, where key stakeholders will come together to strengthen conversations around addiction prevention and responsible gaming across Africa. Because sometimes, one conversation can change a life.

It is easy to say, “My mother should have done better.” Many of us have said those words before. But life humbles you differently when you become the mother. When you realize it is no longer just about you, but about the little innocent face looking up at you, learning from you, slowly becoming what you show them every single day. And sometimes, in the middle of exhaustion, confusion, and silent tears, all you can whisper is, “Just a little more time, son… we’ll get home soon.” That was when it truly dawned on me that motherhood is not just about giving birth. It is about sacrifice. It is about choosing strength even when you feel weak, and making difficult decisions that could shape or shatter destinies. It is about staying, fighting, nurturing, and refusing to give up even when nobody sees the battles behind your smile. Because one day, it will be our turn to answer for the lives entrusted into our hands. So today, I celebrate every mother : the tired mothers, the young mothers, the single mothers, the mothers trying to heal while raising others, and the mothers silently figuring life out one day at a time. You are stronger than you know, and your love matters more than words can ever explain. Happy Mother’s Day to us all. @teenmoms_tribe . 🤍 #thegirlfromthesource #Happymothersday

The past few days as an Operations/Clinical Support Officer at @gamblealertng have been intense in the best way possible. While part of our team was representing Gamble Alert at the iGaming AFRIKA Summit, another side of the team simultaneously commenced our school sensitization tour here in Nigeria. At the same time, preparations for the upcoming Responsible Gaming Symposium are also fully underway. It is demanding and sometimes breathtaking, but it is also deeply fulfilling knowing that the work we do is creating meaningful conversations around responsible gaming, advocacy, awareness, and community impact. Safe to say this season has stretched my capacity, strengthened my resilience, and reinforced the importance of having a team that understands both purpose and execution.

Sometimes, we wonder if the conversations we create truly reach people… until the reviews start coming in.🥹 Reading through the feedback from our April webinar reinforced why @teenmoms_tribe exists in the first place : to create a safe space where young mothers feel seen, heard, supported, and reminded that their story is not over. Every shared experience, every honest conversation, every “thank you, I needed this” means more than words can explain. To everyone who joined us, listened, contributed, and trusted this community with your vulnerability… thank you.❤️

“So many people are carrying great ideas, they just need the right conversations and environment to refine them.” I spent the past few days serving as a moderator at the Business Incubator Program hosted by Initiative for Information Arts and Culture Development @iacd_ng American Corner Jericho, Ibadan and that was one thing I kept thinking through every session. Moderating the sessions gave me a front row seat to a lot of honest conversations; business owners asking real questions, speakers sharing practical experiences, people talking about mistakes, growth, structure, visibility, grants, branding, revenue and what it actually takes to build something sustainable. I wasn’t just passing microphones or introducing speakers. I found myself fully immersed in every conversation, learning, observing and sometimes even reflecting on my own journey while the sessions were going on. And sharing the room with people like Ms.karamat ajala, Mrs @kemiirinoye , @thechocboy , Mr Olugbenga Ogunbowale, EMBA and Mrs Omowumi Helen Oduyemi made the experience even more worthwhile and one thing I’m leaving with is this: A good idea is not enough. You have to be willing to learn, adapt, stay consistent and keep showing up even when things are unclear. A big shoutout to @israelalabiwrites for this recommendation. I owe you in folds Sir🥰 I’m really grateful for the opportunity, the conversations and for every lesson that came with it. #thegirlfromthesource #businesstalk #globalmoderator #IACDNG

As funny as this looks, we can’t help but commend the creativity behind it… because for many moms, this is real life in pictures 😅 School resumes tomorrow, and for a lot of mothers, especially young and single moms, it’s not just about buying books and packing lunch boxes. It’s the mental load, the bills that seem to multiply overnight, the “how will I figure this out?” moments, and still showing up strong for their children. To every mom feeling a little overwhelmed right now, we see you. It takes a-lot of strength to keep going, to keep providing, to keep loving even when you’re tired… At @teenmoms_tribe , we celebrate you for the resilience in the everyday struggle. You are doing better than you think, even on the days it doesn’t feel like it. As this new school term begins, we’re rooting for you. May provision meet your needs, may help find you when you need it, and may you never run out of strength to keep showing up. Happy resumption to all our babies❤️

Laura grew up in a home where safety was not guaranteed. An abusive father. Early exposure to alcohol. A childhood shaped by survival instead of stability. What should have been protection became her first introduction to pain, and without even realizing it, that pattern followed her into adulthood. In college, the cycle continued. An abusive relationship. Exposure to substances. A slow descent that did not happen overnight, but through repeated moments where her environment made harmful choices feel normal. Then came motherhood. She became a teenage mother, and not long after, she found herself raising three children alone. No support system. No safety net. Just responsibility, fear, and the weight of decisions she had to make every single day. But somewhere in that chaos, Laura made a choice. She chose to break the pattern. She chose to confront addiction. She chose to walk away from toxic relationships. She chose to silence the voices of stigma that told her she would never rise beyond her past. And most importantly, she chose herself. Today, Laura is raising responsible children with intention. She is rebuilding what was once broken and redefining what her story means—not just for herself, but for her children. Her journey reminds us that: Breaking free is possible, even when the cycle feels endless. Healing is possible, even when the wounds run deep. And choosing yourself is not selfish, it is often the first step toward saving the next generation. At @teenmoms_tribe , we remain committed to creating spaces where stories like Laura’s are not judged, but held with empathy, support, and purpose. Because no young mother should have to navigate pain, stigma, or growth alone. #TeenMomsTribe #BreakingTheCycle #EndStigma #Teenagepregnancies #thegirlfromthesource

At 17 and a half, Laura made a decision that would change everything. She walked away from a life filled with violence, addiction, and uncertainty. In her arms were two babies, one just 18 months old, the other only 4 months. No roadmap, no guarantees, just a quiet determination that this would not be the end of her story. Years later, that same story looks very different. Her children are grown, thriving, kind, and doing well for themselves. She built a career, went back to school, and earned not just one degree but several. Step by step, she rebuilt her life into something steady, something whole. For many young mothers, this part of the story is familiar. Not everyone speaks about it, but behind many marriages and relationships are struggles with abuse, control, and silence. It is heavy, and it is real. This is why @teenmoms_tribe exists. To remind you that there is still a path forward. To stand with you as you find your way back to yourself. Today, Laura will be sharing more of her journey and what it means to find yourself again after everything life has thrown at you. Join us tonight🙏 The registration link is still open (check the bio). You can still be part of this conversation. #MotherhoodJourney #FindingHer #Teenagepregnancies #thegirlfromthesource #teenagemothers
