Underage gambling is silently becoming a widespread issue, and our latest data reveals just how deeply it is affecting today’s teenagers. With over 90% of students already aware of what gambling is, 1 in 3 still engages in it, especially those between the ages of 13 and 15. The problem is strongly driven by peer influence, where friends can double a student’s likelihood of gambling, while boys remain disproportionately more involved than girls. Exposure to gambling advertisements further fuels curiosity and normalizes the behaviour, and shockingly, children who are sent by adults to place bets almost always end up gambling themselves. Although awareness helps reduce participation by nearly one-third, the risks remain high across all age groups. These findings show that underage gambling is not random; it is shaped by social pressure, family influence, money habits, and constant media exposure, making early prevention and guidance more important than ever. #breakingnews🚨 #nowlistening

The boy child navigates a world filled with societal pressures, vulnerabilities, and risks. As we celebrate their potential today, we must also commit to protecting their future. Early exposure to gambling isn't just a harmless game it introduces a cycle of risk, financial stress, and mental anxiety that no child should have to carry. Let’s guide them toward building real skills, resilience, and healthy choices instead of leaving their future to a roll of the dice. 🎲 #InternationalBoyChildDay #BoyChildDay #ProtectTheBoyChild #GambleAlert #ResponsibleGaming #MentalHealthMatters #YouthEmpowerment #RaiseThemRight #lagoscommunity
