Discomfort is a magnifying glass that amplifies everything going on inside of us. It allows us to zoom into the most minute parts of our psyche and dissect them, helping us to better understand who we are, our biases, our fears, and at we are resistant to. If uncontrolled, it can cause us to spiral into further agitation and suffering, but if done intentionally, can allows us to unlock an even deeper sense of self control over our mind and body, rendering the regular day-to-day discomfort that is associate with life null and void. That has been the power of the cold for me. Ps. What if instead of rushing to become something, we gave ourselves the space and permission early on to explore, be misunderstood, screw up, learn, grow, and settle in to something that truly made us feel at home? How much more secure could we be about who we are? How much less would we have to defend ideals that even we no longer believed? Deep in conversation with @jossbiggins on the @thinkspacepodcast #reelsphotography #permission #thoughtcatalog #writers #thoughtcatalog #charlesbukwoski #toodeepforinsta #reelsvideo #fy #earthfocus #earthpix #mozination #garyvee #herestothecreatives #dreamersanddoers

Somewhere along the way, we got convinced what the world thinks we should do matters more than what we know inside ourselves. That the answers to how we should spend our time here can be more easily found outside of ourselves rather than in the subtle whispers inside us. We have outsourced our own understanding of our experience to life to heed the safety that is buried inside the advice of the collective ā€œothersā€. But the truth is, there is no singular way to do life. No ultimate right or wrong. There is just billions of lessons learned from those before us, applied to unique and innate desires inside of us. They can not tell us what will work for us. Only we can decide that by looking internally. So asked yourself: šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ What do you want? šŸ‘‰šŸ¼What do you know? šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ What do you need? šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ What works for you? šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ What are the moments that light you up? šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ What are the moments that engage you? šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ What are the types of conversations you want to have? šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ What are the moments that bore you? I genuinely believe that any true r/evolution will only happen, if we choose to tap back into what’s so deeply true inside all of us. So, let’s start there. Cut from a long, deep, and opening conversation with my friend @jossbiggins and the @thinkspacepodcast a few years back. The message still stands. #reelsphotography #writers #thoughtcatalog #charlesbukwoski #toodeepforinsta #reelsvideo #fy #earthfocus #earthpix #mozination #garyvee #herestothecreatives #dreamersanddoers

There is a world that exists beyond human language. A silent current, older than time itself, buried beneath the noise of our minds. I didn’t know I had forgotten it until the African savanna began to remind me. It wasn’t a voice I heard, but a presence I felt. In the slow, deliberate movements of the elephants, in the grace of a lioness gliding through golden light, in the wind whispering across the dry grasslands. All as it had for millions of years before me. In that vast, undeniable aliveness, I stopped being a spectator and became part of the rhythm. part of the breath moving through every living thing. I wasn’t observing life. I was life… Go check out Slide 5 for the rest. All moments captured while on safari at @olaremara in the Maasari Mara Conservancy (Olare Motorogi), Kenya. Huge love to @erickmarens for making the experience something we will never be able to properly put into words. And more love to @trustedtravelgirl for capturing the shots of me šŸ“øšŸ¦šŸ†šŸ˜ #Safari #VisualsByDeshoots #kenya #maasaimara #africa

In my 37 trips around the sun, there’s one thing life has made unmistakably clear: it’s never really been about what I do. It’s about who I get to do it with. The memories, the laughter, the quiet moments, and the battles fought side by side with people that simply want to do this life thing… together. To every single one of you who has stood beside me unwaveringly, celebrating the highs, steadying me through my lows (especially the lows ā¤ļø), and believing in me when I couldn’t see clearly, you have shaped my life in ways words can’t fully capture. You are the reason all of this has meant something. Thank you for doing life with me. #myhomies

Still trying to figure out if that was a wedding… or a private jungle rave with all of my best friends coming together to celebrate the love of @joshhamilton and @alyssademarco . Either way, watching their love up close has been one of the most beautiful gifts of my life.
To witness what’s possible when two humans commit to creating a life together is something I hope we all get to experience. J&A:Ā the depth of how you two show up in the world is so evident with how everyone else shows up around you - and your wedding was a testament to the hat. I’m grateful to call you two some of my closest friends and glad you’re stuck with me for life. Love you both SO much. šŸ“ø Carousel is a collection of my favorite moments captured and experienced. Nica – thank you for breathing life back into me when I needed it most. In ways I may never grasp, you placed solid ground beneath my unsteady feet. Your oceans poured itself into my veins. Your skies set fire to the parts of me that had almost extinguished. Every wave, every sunrise, every breath of warm wind was medicine that re-nourished my soul. And the humans - wild-hearted, full of life reminding me of my own power, of something bigger moving through all of us, of the way life can feel expansive when we let it. For all of it, I am grateful. @jossbiggins @bamlionheart @ed.paget @tyscomz

Africa is reshaping my understanding of what it means to be alive. Immersing myself in some of the last remaining raw, untamed nature has illuminated a balance and unity I hadn’t previously grasped spending most of my time out of the wild. The tension and harmony of it all has revealed a rhythm of existence that feels deeply profound, and yet so utterly obvious now. The sense that every element, from the smallest insect to the largest predator, plays an intentional and interconnected role in something so much bigger than the sum of its parts. There is a unity that flows through everything, balancing one part with another in a way that feels healthy. One of the most powerful shifts has come from observing everything in its natural state. Seeing the intelligence and awareness out here has made it impossible to think of it all as anything but deeply alive, aware, and conscious. There’s a presence and wisdom in it all, a grace in the continuous renewal, and a sense of purpose in every interaction that reflects something essential about life itself. As much as Im here to ā€œexperience natureā€, it is slowly peeling back the layers of my own unconscious assumptions about life on earth, the cultural narratives I grew up with, and my (now limited) understanding and views about my own existence. In its raw beauty, Africa is offering a mirror—revealing both the fragility and resilience of life, and leaving me with a profound respect for the interconnectedness of all things. šŸ“·: A moment on the savanna surrounded by 25 elephants 🐘🐘🐘 photos of my captured by @trustedtravelgirl , love to @erickmarens and @olaremara for the experience #safari #VisualsByDeshoots #kenya #maasaimara #africa

Out here on safari, life has been teaching me in ways no book ever could. The rhythm of the wild sharing lessons that can’t be fully grasped through words alone. Watching the way animals interact, the way the landscape shifts, and how everything seems perfectly in tune with itself and the world around it. It’s been a deep reminder to slow down and truly observe. There’s something powerful about stepping into a world that feels untouched by our assumptions, where every moment is raw, real, and full of unfiltered truth. It’s made me realize how much we take for granted, how often we lean on what we’ve been told instead of what we’ve experienced. To truly learn, we have to let go of what we think we know, pay attention to what’s unfolding in front of us, and stay open to being surprised. When we let ourselves just observe, without judgment or expectation, the world has a way of showing us everything we need to see. A simple reminder to keep exploring, keep watching. You might just discover something that changes you forever. All moments captured while on safari at @olaremara in the Maasari Mara Conservancy (Olare Motorogi), Kenya. Huge love to @erickmarens for making the experience something we will never be able to properly put into words. #safari #VisualsByDeshoots #kenya #maasaimara #africa
