I think for every sneaker collector thereās a shoe you just couldnāt get. You may have been too young to have your own money, you may have been geographically iced out, you just might not have been tuned in yet like you are now, but we all have at least one.

For me, this is that one. It was that post Thanksgiving almost Christmas window of 2005 and my mom as any cool mom does took me to the mall to see what a young man like me would like to see under the tree. We walk into my local Salem NH Finish Line and among the wall of countless shoes I see these. For the past few years (since Drop it Like itās Hot really) Iāve wanted one thing. Ice Cream Sneakers.

I pull them down off the wall and turn around to the rare face of disapproval and frank disgust from my mother. The words āI will NEVER buy you those pink clown shoesā hit my ears like a nuclear blast of disappointment.
