The Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment is today launching a communications campaign designed to support householders and businesses to manage their energy costs. 💡 The ongoing conflict in Iran has triggered a sharp increase in oil prices, driving cost increases in fuel and home heating oil, and raising the risk of higher energy prices more generally. The campaign points to the recently introduced €755 million package of temporary supports, while highlighting the long term supports and grants available to households, farms, contractors and businesses to lower their energy costs. The campaign also shares advice on immediate steps that can be taken that don’t cost a cent as well as the most impactful actions households can take now to prepare for rising costs. Through gov.ie/ReduceYourUse, people can explore practical ways to take control of their energy use – from switching energy provider and making the most of smart meters, to improving energy efficiency in the home or workplace over time. The campaign also highlights the range of supports available, including grants for insulation, heating upgrades and solar PV, helping to reduce costs while improving comfort and long-term energy resilience. Our campaign website shares supports and advice from Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) and ESB Networks, as well as business and transport focused information via the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment and the Department of Transport. Saving energy saves money – At home, on the move and for your business.⚡ Find out more in our bio! #SavingEnergySavesMoney #ReduceYourUse #EnergySupports
