At this special Ard Fheis marking 100 years of Fianna Fáil, it’s an opportunity to reflect on what we’ve delivered and the transformational projects now underway across energy and transport, from renewables and energy security to MetroLink, Dart Plus, Cork Commuter Rail and the Western Rail Corridor
Delighted to be here at our Fianna Fáil 100 Bliain Ard Fheis.
We are reflecting on what we have delivered over the past 100 years, but more importantly we are continuing to invest in and deliver major infrastructure projects in key areas, and across energy and transport.
Great to meet with the team at @goaheadirelandofficial Ireland and get a tour of their HQ in Ballymount.
It was good to hear an update on their planned expansion and current services. They’re a growing team doing some great work, particularly during the recent protests, and it was great to see that commitment firsthand.
A fantastic morning in Tullamore at the Energy & Infrastructure Conference hosted by @bnmireland . In this week’s episode of the Business Post Podcast, the “pugnacious bruiser” from Malahide, Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien, sits down with Business Post editor Daniel McConnell.

On Prime Time last night, I outlined the supports Government has put in place for families during this energy crisis, with almost 470,000 households receiving assistance with energy bills.
We’re also accelerating the transition to renewable energy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and protect households into the future.
Pleased to sign regulations to give effect to scale of fees for environmental judicial reviews with my colleague @jackchamberstd .
Ireland has a strong record in Europe for compliance with environmental law, and that won’t change. Introducing manageable and predictable legal costs ensures a streamlined system that balances environmental concerns with the greater public good. This makes the system more practical and can also support positive environmental outcomes.
This includes the renewable energy development we so badly need to offset the volatility of imported fossil fuel costs.
Delighted to support Dublin Climate Action Week and to thank everyone involved for the important work being done across our communities. Real progress happens when local action is supported and scaled, from households and schools to clubs and community groups
Great news for Portmarnock. €500,000 has been secured from Fingal County Council to begin works at the PSLC following the pool closure. We’re also seeking additional funding to help get this important community facility reopened safely as quickly as possible.
A landmark day in Belfast Grand Central Station as we signed the contract for the new Enterprise fleet between Dublin and Belfast. This major investment will strengthen North-South connectivity, improve journeys and support growing passenger numbers across the island
Honoured to attend the Arbour Hill 1916 Commemoration - remembering the sacrifice and legacy of those who shaped our nation. A solemn and meaningful occasion.
