We’re showing an incredible film by Harvey Auerbach Dunn called “I wanna be a statue” and you’re in for a treat! @hravo_ showed his short weaving loops which were a collaboration with @seayawn and @mo.grill.coke Here’s info from Harvey: Harvey is an animator, director and amateur grainist based in a pool of nebulous gloop in the UK Midlands. He creates worlds of winding, dripping landmasses all in an honest effort to convince someone to invest in their real-world construction. He likes to explore narrative filmmaking as one would their local supermarket, semi-regularly and in a hurry. He composes his own DIY, synth based scores. About my film:  I Wanna Be a Statue is Harvey’s graduation film from the Royal College of Art from 2023 and is 3 minutes and seventeen seconds of 2D animation. See you at @therumshack on Monday 7pm x #animation #diy #Harveyauerbachdunn #daydreamnation #glasgow

Very happy to show you a film by Pallavi Agarwala, whose film “Once more with feeling” we screened at our first diy cinema screening and we will never forget the applause it received 👏🥹 This time we will show you “Flight” which is a very important film, especially in current reality. Make sure to visit Pallavi’s insta: @pallavi.agarwala Here’s info from Pallavi: A sentence about your film + info such as duration, year of completion and technique Flight is an animated film about exodus, migration and paperwork. 5 min 19 sec, made in 2017, as International Animator in Residence for the Toronto Animated Image Society. Paper, graphite sticks and eraser. Culling from texts and testimonials of exodus and migration, I was intrigued by the lesser explored obstacle, i.e. the very un-exotic task of immigration and filing paperwork. I wanted to build a film around what it could mean for a person making that journey, and the uncertainty of it. As this phenomenon has and continues to impact people from across the globe, the film has been left wordless, without specific language. The film is an immersive experience, and was projected in a public gallery as part of the animation residency. 🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽 thank you Pallavi!!!! We are happy to have @lazywitts showing her work with us again. This time her stunning film “FRIED!” Will be shown at our community cinema. Thank you Lizzy for letting us screen your work, Here’s info: FRIED! is a folk-horror comedy which explores themes of hope and community. The story draws inspiration from new-age spiritualism, Greenham Common and the proximity of ancient and industrial ruins in the British landscape. Created almost entirely in Blender, FRIED! combines mixed-media techniques, 3D and 2D animation, hand-drawn charcoal, and 3D-scanned props. The film takes an experimental approach to 3D software, merging an expressive making style with a lo-fi, ‘scruffy’ CG aesthetic to evoke a uniquely handmade feeling. Director BIO: Lizzie Watts is a director and artist. She studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths College and Directing Animation at the National Film and Television School. Lizzie’s work embraces a unique and expressive style which combines an experimental approach to 3D software and 2D animation. Her films often intersect the mundane with the supernatural and she uses dark comedy as a tool to explore social power dynamics and political themes. Her work has been screened internationally at BAFTA and OSCAR qualifying festivals worldwide and in 2025 she was awarded a place on the GMAC Little Pictures filmmakers programme See Lizzie’s film 🎥 on Monday, ticket info in bio 😘 #lizziewatts #fried #daydreamnation #glasgow #animation

We’re incredibly happy to show this amazing film by @em.cooper.studio tonight and we’d like to thank Em massively for letting us screen it at @therumshack ❤️ This entirely handmade film won her a Grammy and many different awards so make sure you check Em Coopers work which is absolutely magic. Here’s info: The Beatles: I’m Only Sleeping 2022, 3min, dir. Em Cooper The Grammy winning official music video for The Beatles: I’m Only Sleeping: hand painted in more than 1300 oil paintings by Em Cooper, the film takes us into John’s dreamlike world. He’s keeping an eye from his window. A sentence about my practice: I’m interested in using moving-image oil-paint to evoke subjective experience — my aim is to convey what it feels like to be experiencing the world: fleeting thoughts, memories sensations, shifting in every passing moment, rather than what the world looks like on the outside. #emcooper #thebeatles

Tonight we’re showing a great collaborative effort from Audrey Yong, Ning Xuan Tan and Meghan Poh! @ithinkimgoingtodie has its own Instagram and you can check out all places this cool film has traveled:) Here’s info from directors: Film description: Moving between the mediums of sand, paper, collage, puppet, and clay, I Think I’m Going to Die is a mixed media stop motion film about a young girl who finds her body afflicted by a mysterious condition. You can find the stills in the filmfreeway link! My bio: Meghan Poh is an animator and designer based in Singapore. Her diverse body of work reflects her enthusiasm for experimenting with new storytelling tools, and her affinity for stories of resistance, subjects of mundane everyday life, and everything janky and DIY. She also organises in a community programme aimed at building people power in neighbourhoods. Full name: Audrey Yong Jieyi Instagram: @burritoball Bio: Audrey is a versatile craftsman of both physical and digital mediums. Though primarily a stop-motion generalist, her wheelhouse of skills extend to both 2D and 3D animation. Armed with an innovative mind and the (occasionally misplaced) belief that she can solve anything, she’s at her happiest when there’s a creative problem she can sink her teeth into. She is based in Singapore. Ning Xuan Tan is a writer, director and animation filmmaker from Singapore who loves unique mixed-media experimentation. She enjoys telling stories that raise awareness of social issues, providing a platform for underrepresented voices. @ning.tnx See you at @therumshack tonight x
