Representing Albania at the ESO Conference 2026 was more than participation in an architectural conference — it was a reflection on how design must evolve in an era shaped by climate urgency, technology, and human complexity.
This year’s theme, “Negotiation, Not Compromise. Design as Dialogue Between Earth, Technology, and Humanity,” reminds us that architecture is no longer a solitary act. It is a continuous negotiation between culture, ecology, technology, communities, and the future we choose to build together.
Honored to be part of this important dialogue as representative of Design Ambassador, alongside some of the most influential voices in contemporary architecture and design.
With nearly 1,000 participants at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall, ESO 2026 reaffirmed the importance of collaboration, research, and creative dialogue in shaping the next generation of architecture.
The audience had the opportunity to attend nine presentations by distinguished personalities of the Greek and international architectural scene, who lead the orchestration of the next day of design experience. Specifically, on the stage of this year's ESO, @mvrdv , @oppenheimarchitecture , @we.are.uns , @dedaarchitects , @bobotisarchitects , @etsi_architects , @dora.theodoropoulou1 , @elinatheodoropoulou_art_work , @deplot_architects confirmed the importance of collaboration, research and creative negotiation as key tools for the future of global architecture.
Grateful to Archisearch and Design Ambassador for creating a platform where architecture becomes not only a discipline, but a bridge between earth, technology, and humanity.

Conceived, by @ourania_pikramenou and @deplot_architects as an immersive architectural intervention, the project frames uninterrupted views across Skaros, Oia and Thirassia, while embracing a slower, site-driven approach to hospitality.

🔵Η Διαπραγμάτευση δεν είναι Συμβιβασμός: η επόμενη μέρα του αρχιτεκτονικού σχεδιασμού στην ΕΣΩ 2026🔵
Με σχεδόν 1.000 συμμετέχοντες, η ημερίδα ΕΣΩ 2026 ολοκληρώθηκε με μεγάλη επιτυχία την Τετάρτη 13 Μαΐου στην Αίθουσα Αλεξάνδρα Τριάντη του Μεγάρου Μουσικής Αθηνών, εξασφαλίζοντας για ακόμη μία χρονιά τον ρόλο της ως μια από τις σημαντικότερες διοργανώσεις για τη σύγχρονη δημιουργική σκέψη και παραγωγή στην Ελλάδα. Με κεντρική θεματική «Διαπραγμάτευση, όχι Συμβιβασμός. Ο Σχεδιασμός ως Διάλογος ανάμεσα στη Γη, την Τεχνολογία και τον Άνθρωπο», η φετινή διοργάνωση ανέδειξε την αρχιτεκτονική ως μια δυναμική διαδικασία, που διαμορφώνεται μέσα από τη συνεχή αλληλεπίδραση και ανατροφοδότηση ανθρώπου, τεχνολογίας και περιβάλλοντος.
Το κοινό είχε την ευκαιρία να παρακολουθήσει εννιά παρουσιάσεις από διακεκριμένες προσωπικότητες της ελληνικής και διεθνούς αρχιτεκτονικής σκηνής, που ηγούνται στην ενορχήστρωση της εμπειρίας της επόμενης μέρας του σχεδιασμού. Συγκεκριμένα, στη σκηνή της φετινής ΕΣΩ οι @mvrdv , @oppenheimarchitecture , @we.are.uns , @dedaarchitects , @bobotisarchitects , @etsi_architects , @dora.theodoropoulou1 , @elinatheodoropoulou_art_work , @deplot_architects επιβεβαίωσαν τη σημασία της συνεργασίας, της έρευνας και της δημιουργικής διαπραγμάτευσης ως βασικών εργαλείων για το μέλλον της παγκόσμιας αρχιτεκτονικής.

Hospitality Atmospheres explores the spatial, material, and sensory qualities that shape experiences of welcome. Through carefully selected projects, the series examines how architecture frames comfort, encounter, and ritual thus revealing hospitality not as a program, but as an atmosphere shaped by light, texture, proportion, and use.
In Imerovigli, Santorini, San Antonio, a five-star boutique hotel carved into the bedrock of the Thiraic landscape, unfolds along the vertical face of the caldera overlooking the Aegean Sea. The renovation by Ourania Pikramenou and Deplot Architects addresses the constraints of the underground construction, proposing a gentle approach that highlights the existing qualities, leaving room for the convergence of architecture, landscape, light, and materiality.

Carved Narrative 🩵
Carved Narrative unfolds across 570 sqm of built space, where four luxury residences, two emerging above ground, two gently embedded within the earth, follow the natural elevation lines of the terrain. The volumes extend horizontally, tracing the contours of the slope as if guided by an invisible script written by the landscape itself. The subterranean homes embrace the cool silence of the mountain, while the above-ground residences open toward the Ionian horizon, dissolving into light, stone, and shadow.
Nothing interrupts the terrain.
Nothing competes with it.
Each residence becomes a chapter.
Each level, a pause.
Each opening, a frame to the sea.
This is not a composition imposed on nature.
It is a narrative carved by it. 🩵🧿
