When
@27km approached me with the idea of creating a fully AI-generated music video, I was grateful for the opportunity and simultaneously unsure whether we could achieve something genuinely beautiful. In the end, my curiosity about the new possibilities, the current state and also the limits of AI prevailed. It was a huge pleasure to realize this project together with such a big dedicated, creative and passionate team.
Here a little insight in the workflow of us:
While writing the concept, its been extremely important to me that the film we are creating made sense doing with AI using the tools benefits. This way the community of Tokio Hotel - the Aliens - came into our mind. Giving us the opportunity to place the film in that surreal world utilizing AI to create something abstract. Together with my DoP
@konradlosch we developed a look for each vignette and made a shotlist for the whole film before the first prompt was ever written. Then we started with developing the characters and the look of the aliens together with
@johwska @0keyth @patio__studio . For Bill and the main characters we created a styling in collaboration with
@lorenamazastyling . This part of the project felt really artistic as we could think without limits and create free of budget size or production realities.
Then the AI grounded us and a lot of our detailed shotlist and the concept seemed impossible in the beginning of the prompting process. But with a huge amount of iterations and some conceptual flexibility in mind we found ways to come very close to what we had envisioned.
Its been a wild ride and I am more than grateful for the unique trust the artist & brands on this project had in our vision and more than amazed by the amount of human passion that went into this project. Thanks to all the artist on this project, your energy and skills were crazy. Big thanks to
@kimschrady @malt__e @27km for being such an amazing team and having my back the whole time. I learned so much and lost many of my fears and prejudices against the creation with AI at the same time!
