Having experienced the more toxic side of social media in my personal life, particularly through lock down, I noticed how it is now possible to live vicariously through yourself online. Ideas and affirmation become more important than reality.
What's more, is that there now exists a second self for all of us individually that is being built, tracked, and subtly manipulated. The individualised market has turned us all into our own commodity.
With this in mind, I found it important to try and give consciousness to this in my own life.
Digital Spiritual has become a self-fulfilling healing practice, making the most toxic parts of this medium of social media into the creative tools to affirm and develop my work and myself.
The album is made using audio sampled from months of blindly doom scrolling on instagram alongside sounds taken from a lifetimes worth of exploration into making music. All fed through various appropriate production techniques and some A.I assisted creative extensions.
For this project, I have "algorithmed myself" 🤖 👨 🤳 🌌
Aside from all this, the music is some of the best music I've ever made, and I am absolutely fucking over the moon that it is finally out 😭❤️
