Something a bit different from me this time. I was recently invited to photograph a private party at 14 Cavendish - an 18th Century mansion in Marylebone, West London. I documented the evening, from setup to the end - with party goers getting down to a DJ until the early hours. Here are some highlights, taking care to not show close ups of the guests. This was fun! And the building is absolutely stunning! If you have an event you’d like photographed, from a party to a wedding or business event, hit me up and I’ll be very happy to help. :-) #party #14cavendish #eventphotography

Personal work: family trip to Australia. Dec 2025- Jan 2026. Our little family of four went over to New South Wales for the festive period and we’ve just got back. It was absolutely glorious- from the dark gloom of London in winter, we were catapulted into the bright sunshine and technicolour landscapes of Australia in summer- and back again. These pics are from Mudgee, a little town to the North West of Sydney, and Sydney itself. Shots include a day trip to the amazing Manly beach, the central business district, the botanical gardens, and downtown areas like Redfern and Newtown. Also a day trip to visit relatives up the coast of NSW. This was my second trip to New South Wales, a place I’m really starting to develop a fondness for. The sound of the cicadas are still fresh in my ears so now seemed the right time to send these pics out into the world. Here’s to a colourful and positive 2026. Australia you beaut, we loved ya. #australia #mudgee #family #sydney

Two new commercial shoots for Checkatrade. These are firstly Dovetail, a timber frame housing company in Bristol, and secondly GJ Smith roofing company working in Aylesbury. None of this is posed- I’m just shooting excellent trades people at work doing what they do so well. And it’s brilliant fun to shoot. Part of my ongoing work with Checkatrade updating their brand photography. Stay tuned for more. 🤩 #construction #timberframe #documentary

My latest commercial photography work for Checkatrade - Anne, an electrician, working at a domestic property in Chessington. UK. Lots more shoots to come as I help Checkatrade update their brand photography to reflect real life working in construction in the UK. This is such a fun project to do. Great to see people doing what they love. 🤩 These people aren’t posed, I just shoot people doing their thing. I have slots available this Autumn if your company would like some fresh new imagery to update your branding. Just drop me a line and let’s talk! #brandphotography #construction #electrician

Wanted to share some commercial work I’ve done recently for Checkatrade. I’ve been going round the UK documenting trades for them. It’s been great. Everything from electricians, to roofers, to carpenters and plumbers. Amazing to see people at work with their hands, and super proud of what they do. This work is from the first two shoots - a bathroom fitter in Tottenham and a roofing company in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. More to come and lots more shoots still to do. #checkatrade #construction #trade

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. 2015. Portraits and street pics from Tolgoit ger district. I adore Mongolia and intend to return and complete a photo essay about the capital city Ulaanbaatar. It’s a fascinating place. Tolgoit is a part of the city inhabited by recently nomadic people- very different from the bustling downtown area. #mongolia #documentary #portraits #streetphotography #photoessay

Nine American college football stadiums, as seen from above. Photographed via satellite. Found and arranged by me. 2023. . . As I’ve been observing the North American landscape from above following my previous series about the Canadian countryside, certain things have stood out as strange and unusual. Stadium architecture is one of these. . . Amazingly to me, college football stadiums dwarf even the biggest used in pro American sport, such as those used by the NFL (National Football League. In fact, college stadia from the USA currently occupy up eight of the top ten spots for the largest stadiums on earth. . . One example is the third biggest stadium on earth - Michigan stadium, home to the Michigan Wolverines university football team in Ann Arbor. It is shown here in the middle image. This stadium’s capacity is an incredible 107,601 people, and it was originally built in 1926- having been enlarged many times since. Others shown include Ohio, Pennsylvania and the Bryant-Denny stadium at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. . . For me these buildings sit like epic and cavernous space ships - literal alien forms within the landscape. Their presence speaks to me again of Western countries’ relationship with the land - we often attempt to dominate, to separate from, and raise above it. As seen from space, these structures appear simultaneously futuristic and ancient; a garish work of sci fi, their open tops echoing Ancient Greek theatres. There is a strange beauty here though, and we can imagine the vast crowds having a whole load of noisy fun on match day. . . Exploring the earth in this way has become a real feature of my creative output. It comes partly from being stuck inside during the Covid19 pandemic, during which time I was unable to travel / walk in public, and was relegated to sadly viewing the world remotely from my living room using which ever sources I could find. . . The arrangement in a typology or series of nine feels like an attempt to make sense / bring order. There is more to come. #football #collegefootball #michigan #ohio #pennsylvania #american #fromabove #americansport #series #typology #nines #stadium #field #taxonomy
