Independent journalism and freedom of the press from political bias and corporate influence is more important now than ever. As the daughter of a veteran broadcast journalist and news anchor, I know first hand how they bring important issues to light, inspire debate and work to protect freedom, democracy and the truth. 🎤 Hosted the Indian and American flag hoisting in Times Square for India’s 76th Independence Day. As a third generation Indian American, I am delighted to represent the diversity of New York City and celebrate the unity between both countries alongside Musician Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Chef Vikas Khanna, the NYC Mayor’s office, the Consulate General of India NY, the Federation of Indian Associations and the Indo American Arts Council.
