refuge is a platform for some of the finest organisers, noise makers and selectors in the community, and takes place on the unceded sovereign lands of the Turrbal & Yuggera peoples. they were the first storytellers, dancers & musicians here, and their rich and ongoing connection to these lands and waters are sacred. to honour them, we must mark new heights of radical care, collectivism and disruption.

Familiar Ground explores the significance of rural Australian towns, with a focus on Mapleton. Jones offers an intimate reflection on her hometown, considering memory, place, and belonging. Dobie offers a wider perspective, considering life in rural towns across Australia with a quiet attention to detail.
Bringing together both new and archival works, Familiar Ground invites viewers to reflect on the past and present of life in regional Australia.

We’re starting off the year with two absolute darling angel pookies in the form of @deejay_local_support and @dylanomuineog
Both are beloved members of the community, with Dylan recently returning after a sojourn in his native land of Ireland, and ready to deliver his love of pure dancefloor fun to the people, and we love him for it! Lucas on the other hand is the heart of soul of @luckyduck._ and one of the most beloved selectors of the city, specialising in a fun, joyous and unpretentious approach to the more balearic side of things. He’s also been responsible for all our beautiful art! Combined together, they are a celebration of friendship, love and our own humid existence
Following these two dynamo darlings will be 1/2 of the brains trust behind this operation @tinywhisk_nrg and a special guest (more on that later). See ya there!
