discovered some incredibly sweet human had written messages of encouragement and affirmation in a bunch of the trans and queer books at the library. bless you whoever you are. i don’t really like posting or being on here any more due to Meta officially legitimizing people claiming that trans and queer people do not exist or that being trans is just a mental illness. it makes my skin crawl to generate revenue for a platform that thinks people like me are perfectly deserving of hatred and bigotry. i’ll make an exception for something that pushes back on their horseshit tho.
A very belated thank you to everyone who made my 35th birthday such a lovely and special day whether you sent me birthday wishes or came out to celebrate. Thank you to my beautiful partner Rachel for doing so much to plan and coordinate my birthday trip to Toronto and thank you to the birthday crew @and.gil.gir@mmegaloceros@taim.b.a and @randyellis04 who I was privileged to spend time with throughout the day!! I wish I had group pics but I’m notoriously shit at remembering to take pictures. I am so so grateful to have so many wonderful people in my life, it is a huge part of what makes life worth living and celebrating. This was a huge and often difficult year for me with a lot of highs and lows, thank you to everyone who showed up for me in the good times and bad. Excited for all the amazing things in the year to come.
Girls night out w @keechakat : Crumb, L’Rain, & Discovery Zone @ The Concert Hall. A very kind woman warned us while we were waiting in line that they used to worship Satan there. Thank god. L’Rain’s set was absolutely unreal, busting open atmospheric and improvisatory possibilities only hinted at on her albums. Crumb made a gorgeous cocoon of melting sound. Why is music so good??
After six years of arduous work I have finally finished my Bachelor of Design. These years have been a seemingly endless torrent of unexpected illnesses, global pandemics, breakups, aborted moving plans, depression spirals… some of the most intensely challenging years of my life, but also some of the most rewarding. There were so many times when I felt like I couldn’t keep pushing forward and needed to give up. But I didn’t, and I am incredibly proud to have made it to the finish line. I still have so much to learn and so much more room to grow and I’m excited to create the future I want for myself. Thank you so so much to my darling friends and family who have been so supportive of me during this time. I couldn’t have made it without you. 💜💜💜
