It's not often you get the opportunity to produce a shoot like this.
I mean, Qube Productions called asking if we can take the legendary Audi R8 'Crocodile' down Flinders Street with Allan McNish at the wheel - you know - shut down Melbourne's busiest intersection for a few hours. And then whip down the Great Ocean Road to the 12 Apostles. I was like - 'sure, no worries'. And then I was I like to myself - 'holy shitballs'
Funny thing is, the edit makes it all look so effortless - stunning car, quiet city, beautiful sunrise. But behind the scenes was an incredible team who made it happen. Phil Williams at VicPol with his amazing police escort teams; Liv Moedt and the team at the City of Melbourne; Sharon Gatt at VicRoads; Matt Harris, Kevin Nguyen and the team at Yarra Trams; Meg and the team at Fed Square; Ben Anderson and his team at the Arts Centre; Dylan Hyland and the incredible traffic control team at AUSTLS; AD David Normand and Safety Sup Jimmy Peters coordinating the action seamlessly; the Qube Camera Team under Chris Benny's direction capturing the golden moments and of course, the incredible Audi Team and support crew. It was truly fabulous to watch it all come together.
Thanks to Lucinda Hayden, Helene Ioakmidis and Ben Clare at We Are Social for all their incredible help along the way and on the day.
Last be certainly not least, I would not have been able to do this without Emma Scott the amazing producer at Qube Productions and Location Manager, Tony Saliba - who very kindly and graciously took my calls to help give advice all along the way to ensure my i's and t's were all covered.

Those aren't 'bedroom eyes' - they're 'what the fuck did you do eyes'. You guessed it - should've gone to Specsavers.
Had an absolute blast on this funny little gem with the brilliant Lizzy Bailey and the relentlessly lovely Poppet production dream team — Nat Taylor, Beth Malcher and Anna King.
Huge props to the creative wizards at TBWA — Steph Gwee and Izzi McGrath — alongside the ever-calm producer Melina Flood for steering the ship.
Topped off by an outrageously talented cast in Alicia Jeffrey and Tim O’Dwyer with Tim Parrington & Daniel Stonehouse on the tools and Alex Naughton shaping the pictures — honestly, one of those rare shoots where everything clicked and no one cried (much). Total dream production. And massive thanks to Northside Casting who went above and beyond - as always.

This was such a fun job.
The Poppet Team are always a joy to work with and truly are positive production people.
Matt McCaughey is a funny guy who knows funny and this was a funny creative from Gemba and Toyota.
But seriously, Glenn McGrath is an absolute legend and a genuine sport who embraced all the fun and is the nicest guy to work with.
And it goes without saying, Ryan Shelton and Matt Okine are the loveliest funny guys.
Amazing crew, epic art department who installed that cricket fence and created such a stir with the locals it resulted in a Reddit thread.
Thanks to all the legends.

May the 4th be with you.
I wasn’t the only Dad having a total geek out with his kids over the Star Wars Lego exhibition at Melbourne Museum.
It was such a ripper exhibition with so many characters in costume or uniform and the master builder’s brick work was literally out of this world. So much joy to all ages.
Now the tough decision - which movie to watch tonight?!

Go Pies!! Go Nicky D on being the youngest Collingwood Captain in 57 years.
I almost completed the perfect pan shot until my daughter yanked my arm because I was leaning back to get the frame right and my boof head was spilling over into the ladies chips behind me.
Lest We Forget - the dedicated and selfless service of our nurses. This is Sister Vivian Bullwinkel - the sole survivor of the infamous Banka Island massacre in 1942.
What an incredible tradition that we come together to commemorate the people who have dedicated their lives to the armed services both past, present and future. And my heart goes out to the families affected by war.

On the weekend we had one of those freakish moments - sliding door moment - that could have been totally life changing for Jo.
It is that unlucky but lucky surreal moment when a framed picture landed on Jo’s back and the glass shattered. A 7cm shard of glass lodged in the base of her back only 1cm from her spinal cord.
When it happened, Jo screamed such a high pitch yell for help it still sends chills when I think back. At first, Willow thought Jo found a mouse. At that pitch, I thought it was a rat. As Jo explains it, she went up to that level bc she thought no one would hear her bc we all wear noise cancelling headphones.
When I ran in, I thought she had broken her back. There was glass everywhere and she was on her hands and knees unable to move. We managed to get her to her feet and lifted her shirt to look at her back. That’s when I feel terrible bc it was not my finest moment. When I saw her back, blood everywhere and a giant shard of glass lodged near her spine I started to faint. I said, we have to call an ambulance.
I ran to get my phone and fell over. Then I couldn’t remember if it was 000 or 911. Then Jo screamed, “Call Katherine!!” - I responded, “How can I call Katherine if I can’t call three zeroes” my eyes were seeing stars at this point.
Willow runs in with a glass of water and towels. I drank the water, “That was for Mum”. But that water was all I needed. I called the Ambo’s, then Kat. Then cancelled the Ambo bc they were over an hour away and we shuffled down the stairs and shuttled to Cabrini hospital who were absolutely brilliant. Nurse Maureen & Dr Lex and all the staff at Cabrini were incredible. And of course our surgeon, Mr Nick, who gave his Sat arvo to come extract this 7cm shard of glass from Jo’s back.
The whole series of events were frightening, shocking, scary and thankfully ended well with Jo home later that night lying on the couch together binging TV.
It really brings to light of being grateful for what we have and I am oh so very grateful. With this year of 2024 and everyone experiencing scarcity I really have shifted my focus from what I don’t have to what I do have. I am so lucky.
The hosts with the most. So overjoyed to be working with these fabulously brilliant legends. Marieke & Michala are just the tip of the iceberg of our incredible team of fierce women.
Broad Radio has been our dream come true this year and we can’t wait for 2025!!
Footnote: selfies are not my forte and this photo was take 12. The first three had me with ‘thinking face’, the next two I was out of focus, the next two my eyes were shut, then I finally got my shit together and snapped 5 and this was the one!!

Celebrating 25 years married to my lovely husband.
What an adventure this life together is. What laughs and madness we’ve shared. And it seems 90s wedding day hairstyles.
I will be forever proud and grateful that I get to share a life with the foam cannon guy, the guy who shows up with a puppy and a coffee, the guy who fixes my dress in a portaloo. I can’t imagine a moment – either out in the world or at home on the couch – without him.
We are opposites and the same. Best friends. Each other’s biggest fans.
Thanks @dazzheadspace for sharing your brilliant mind, kind heart and enormous laugh with me. I am made of your belief, love and support.
What blessings we have in our tiny family, and with our beautiful Willow. I’m so proud of her. And of our big audacious @broad_radio dreams and goals.
Here’s to another 25 years of tolerating the things that shit us, because we love, respect and are in awe of the best of each other.
I love you Daz. Happy days, my love.
