Spotted something new on routes 57, 59 or 82? 👀 That’s our brand-new G Class tram, now out on the network for testing! They're not taking passengers just yet, but we’re putting them through their paces to make sure they're ready to ride later this year. 📷: @brenden_schonfelder_photos

For the first time, go deeper into the layers of meaning behind each of the First Peoples Melbourne Art Trams with Blak Art on the Move – a series of public programs including workshops and tours. You’ll have the chance to meet the artists and curator of the 2026 trams and learn about the history and enduring significance of First Peoples public art in the city, plus create your own artwork to take home! #RISING2026

Hold onto your Mykis, this one’s a ride… For Melbourne Design Week, local legend @LouisHanson hit the tracks, asking some of our city’s designers and creatives your burning questions. Watch on as his first passenger – @adele_winteridge , designer and founder of @foolscapstudio – tells us what inspires her and Melbourne’s best date spots are revealed… Come on the journey, then hop on the next tram to see Adele’s work in Foolscap x @songforthemute : The Souffle Reimagined next Tuesday, 19 May – free. Click the link in bio for the details. See you there! ❤️ Special mentions: @carnationcanteen @balambalamplace @supernormal_180 @pcoffeebrewers

It's #ThrowbackThursday! 100 years ago this week, the first service ran on the St Kilda to Brighton electric street tramway. The service operated out of the Elwood tram depot, which was completely destroyed by fire in the early morning of March 7 1907 – along with all the trams. Newport Workshops worked speedily to replace the lost rolling stock, and the service continued to operate until February 1959. 📷 1: Trams at the Brighton Terminus, from the Weekly Times, 12 May 1906, National Library of Australia 📷 2: Visitors at the opening ceremony of the St Kilda to Brighton electric street tramway, from the Weekly Times, 12 May 1906, National Library of Australia

Happy #WorldPublicTransportDay! Today we're taking a moment to celebrate the ways public transport brings people together – One day. Millions of journeys. For Vivienne Nguyen, Chairperson of @multiculturevic , trams aren’t just a way to get around Melbourne – they're a chance to relax and connect with her kids 💚 📷 1, 6: @thomasjpg

One day. Millions of journeys. This Friday 17 April marks the inaugural #WorldPublicTransportDay and, to celebrate, we're sharing the stories of Melburnians with a special connection to our trams. Meet Farah. After arriving as a refugee from Iran, she found work with @sisterworks_inc , repairing and refurbishing our tram seats. Every time Farah catches the tram, she sees her impact on the Melbourne community 💚 📷 1, 6: @sisterworks_inc 📷 2, 4: @morgophoto
