Wow, here it is! “Every Dog’s Hotel” my debut album! If you’ve spoken to me in the past year I’m sure I would have mentioned it. Im absolutely stoked for this. I never thought I would be able to put together an album. A bloody album! And just like overhearing someone tell a story at a pub, heres the tale of Every Dog’s Hotel...     Every Dog’s Hotel was an idea born during 2020 when Melbourne was in full lockdown. My friends and I were missing the pub, missing the dancefloors, missing just being able to hang out and have fun. My mate, Nick Saw, and myself were listening to a lot of 90s-00s downtempo chill out stuff around that time: Heights of Abraham, Pork Recordings, Baby Mammoth, Bullitnuts etc. We came up with the idea of creating some breaksy, dreamy, balearic, downtempo tracks and then Nick would do some spoken word poetry over the top about pubs, and sinking pints and general scallywag behaviour. We labelled it “pubwave”. I created the beats, unfortunately we tried to record the vocals but they never really hit how we wanted to. So then we parked the idea. I came back to the bones of the project a while later and thought there was enough there to be worth exploring without the vocals. And thats how the record was created. The whole project has been 4 years in the making. Im super proud of the end result, i think it still nails the dreamy, balearic “pubwave” vibe. My mate Holly Hunt painted the gorgeous cover. December 13 marks a year since first release of electronic selections - the brainchild of @yusufmemon and @tejavu4you , conceived in a university practice room multiple years prior to its inception. Throughout this year span, we’ve released 4 EPs, 1 VA spanning 3 cities and close to 10 takeovers all over Melbourne. Whether it be djing, record collecting and production it has always been in his life since 14. Born & bred in Melbourne, DA’s spent time living in New York, and traveled through Europe & Asia. DA has always focused heavily on production and proudly sports a slew of records on his own label Enjoyment Division, Hell Yeah Recordings, Love Above Records, Houseworx, Rothmans, Tusk Wax, Blind Jacks Journey, Ombra, Wonder Stories, Roam Recordings, El Diablo Social Club. In addition of multiple digital releases on Hell Yeah Recording, Daisy Records and more. Delving into his delightful bag of tech-wiggly-floaty tunes, Makoyana has/is/and will continue to create a soundscape that will entice you. POOL SHARKS Formed from Naarm in late 2024, Pool Sharks is a deep house love child curated by two unassuming and likeminded music lovers with a passion for deep vibrations. The relatively nameless and faceless Pool Sharks brand serves as a purpose to align the sole focus of pushing a sound that is deep, playful and gritty with house rhythms at the forefront
